💬 for the precious Angelico~
“angelico, make sure aniella goes to bed, alright?” his mother had requested, and the fourteen year old male complied, nudging his short haired sister- a year his junior, but not quite thirteen, to her room with a quiet sigh.
“hey- hey, um-.. before you go,” aniella mumbled, grabbing his shoulder before he could drop the blanket on her, “i-.. need to tell you something.”
angelico figured it’d be something silly, like that she broke a toy, or lost her mother’s pen in school. he tilted his head, before sitting on the bed, “okay, shoot.”
“um-.. so-.. um, y-y’know how girls like boys? or- they’re supposed to like boys? i- um, i didn’t really get it, ‘cause i never feel that way around boys- like they’re cool, but i’d never date a boy, y’know? and i know it can sometimes b-be like, you haven’t found the right person, but-.. like.. at school- i can’t find a boy i’d go on a date with, but.. i would go on a date with a few girls in school, is-..” she bit her lower lip, rubbing her arms, “is that wrong, or something? i didn’t want to tell mom in case she’d be mad, and dad wouldn’t get it, so-.. i figured asking you would be a good idea, but-.. yeah, i don’t know.”
he blinked, before leaning back in the bed, “so you’re gay? that’s fine.”
“gay?” she echoed, perplexed.
“well, you’re a lesbian, maybe even bi, but... but some girls like to call themselves gay. either or. but it’s okay to be like that, yeah? i mean, i like girls, there’s a couple of cute ones i know, but i also like boys, but i think i’d like anyone if i liked their personality enough. jax is the same, he’s told me he’d date girls, but he likes boys too. it’s super okay, but i’d keep it quiet for now, just in case mom and dad don’t like it. i haven’t told them about me either. it’ll be our secret, yeah?”
“um.. okay..” she mumbled, “you’ll teach me about this stuff during the weekend, right? and-.. jax can help out, if he’s staying overnight- i-.. i just, don’t want to get the wrong idea…”
angelico nodded, “just remember, ani. you are who you say you are. not what other people say you are. and that’s okay. it’s okay to be you.”
she nodded, and crawled into his arms, wrapping her stick-like limbs around his neck. “thank you.”
