An off-duty Toledo police officer who was charged with drunken driving after a traffic crash pleaded no contest Friday and was found guilty of operating a vehicle under the influence. Officer Adam Kesselmayer, 23, was then ordered by visiting Judge
A Toledo police detective is caught on camera allegedly stealing money from his fellow officers. The detective was given a written reprimand and reassigned. Sources say money was taken over a period of several months. Many officers who declined to talk to me on camera say they don't like the way this situation was handled and say the punishment doesn't fit the alleged crime.
"If he's done it once I'm sure he's probably going to do it again would you think," said tax payer Ron Vernoski.
TPD has removed Detective Michael Schroeder from its investigative bureau for allegedly taking money. Sources in the department say detectives noticed money missing from their desks and other areas of the building like the employee snack area.

Two Toledo police officers have resigned amid an investigation into their involvement in a dispute at a downtown apartment complex while they were off duty, a third officer is under investigation, and Police Chief Derrick Diggs has launched a criminal investigation. Toledo Lt. Mark King confirmed that officer Jada Smith resigned Wednesday and that officer Scott Macinnis resigned today. A third officer, Carlyle Gafeney, has been relieved of duty pending an Internal Affairs investigation. According to authorities, there were reports of a woman firing a gun and trying to harm herself at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday at the Standart Lofts, 34 S Erie St. Ms. Smith and Mr. Macinnis, who were reportedly involved in the dispute, were off duty at the time.
Washington Township, Ohio: The three sons of a motorist killed as police were chasing a robbery suspect have filed suit in U.S District Court, alleging civil rights violations. The complaint alleges the man was killed in a “high-speed, wrong-way, unsupervised, chaotic vehicle pursuit” that was contrary to department regulations.
