When he stole his hearing aids the first time, he figured it would be as easy as finding a pair and wearing them, and his problems would be solved for now. Unfortunately, he didn’t realise that hearing aids are tailored to the person who buys them. Instead, they were too big for his ears, and the sound was all wonky and gave him big headaches after a while. It would take him time to figure things out and they’d become a staple to his being.

While I never really had the misfortune myself, I’ve heard stories of other hearing aid wearers, first-timers and long-timers, where they weren’t as comfortable or convenient as one would hope. Combining that with knowing hearing aids are set up to an individual’s hearing and learning Tolore steals his pairs (it’s nice to think of his parents by saving them the cost), I wondered if his first pairs were very smooth-going for him.

Tolore: my best memory with a loved one would possibly be one of the few moments I get to $pend alone with my papa. It$ not much but then again I dont get to be with my papa alone very often.

Tolore: There were time$ when I wa$ $mall I would wonder away from my parent$. Not good when you're young and cant hear.

Tolore, why did you steal your first hearing aid and not get it from your parents? After you stole it, they bought you a new one, why didn't they do it before?

Tolore: Mo$tly fear. Afraid of what would happen.
