There's something about British actors that does something to my brain. I don't know if it's the accent, the way they all age like time doesn't affect them or what, but damn! I mean, Ben Barnes? The new Marvel movie gets raving reviews because the main character was miraculously and fully realistically de-aged 5 years by a tiny FX team. An actress you follow on Instagram thanks Disney for the honor of being in the film in-between posts about how Hollywood is a disgrace. You watch a funny eleven million view interview where the cast explains they have to be blindfolded and wear noise cancelling headphones as they read their lines to avoid spoilers. Twitter is enraged because they erased the fact that Blorg the Frogman is canonically gay in the comics and in a relationship with Thor’s alternate reality self which is concluded to be the fault of the actor who plays Blorg and also China. A small minority is exchanging mental health resources because one of the female characters got fridged and her hashtag becomes the second most popular right after #SriLankaupsiring. When you ask someone who watched it to explain the plot they can’t remember much because it’s been a month but they’re very excited since it’s rumoured that the movie after the next one might star a black woman. It’s the highest grossing film of 2022.
