trying to concisely explain my thoughts on why i as an aroace person enjoy comedy music so much, and i think it mostly just boils down to enjoying being entertained, and being entertained in a very positive and unique way, plus being able to appreciate when the music itself is also good and enjoyable to listen to, with or without the words, and bonus points if it’s about something that ISN’T JUST ANOTHER SONG ABOUT ROMANCE OR SEX
examples! some of my favorite comedy song topics i've stumbled upon over the years include but are not limited to:
- what happens plotwise in the tens of sequels following up the film jurassic park in another universe (made known by piercing the veil between realities with the power of a fever dream), including space and robots and space robot dinosaurs
- a medieval king releasing the kraken to fight for him in his war but the kraken does absolutely nothing helpful to anyone
- the saga of a guy who Does Not Work Here in various situations that progressively get more dire
- the inner thoughts of a chronic mind-wanderer and their subsequent panicking at being completely lost in a one-sided conversation while on a first date
- four divorced dads three divorced dads and their buddy kyle taking a labor day trip together to myrtle beach, south carolina

- video game protagonist having an existential crisis after defeating the final boss
- this song is not a metaphor by brian david gilbert
- the woes of a lactose intolerant individual that just wants some gosh darn happiness in life
- soothing a young child to sleep with calm and peaceful noises like jackhammers and pirates fighting cops
- pluto not letting the nerds of earth get them down for not being a planet and spreading that positivity to the entire universe
- a death metal band wanting to be taken more seriously so they write a song about cookies to prove to megadeth that they're tough as nails
- a decidedly not metal band being told they need to write a metal song to be more hip with the kids so they write a tropical rock song and enter a metal festival with it
- talking small by brian david gilbert feat. louie zong
- a poor confused little three-dimensional human somehow appearing on a dancefloor at the edge of space and time with a bunch of cosmic deities so they all try their best to include them in the party without completely boggling their mind
- not having time in the mornings to properly show love and affection to each other as a couple so the obvious solution: eat breakfast together while in the shower
- everything smelling like salmon after cooking salmon (feat. epic keyboard solo)
- bragging to everyone at the beach party about the concept of owning a beige sedan that has luxurious features such as: windows, gas/brake pedals, an am radio, at least one cupholder, etc.
- the anthem of men who own obnoxiously loud vehicles
- the incredible mind and writing prowess of j.r.r. tolkien (feat. lots of walking)
- getting sucked through 26 dimensions of space and time by some royal wizards for an ancient king who summoned forth heroes to rescue his daughter the princess from an evil necromancer
