TRIBUTE: Chimera Lighting Founder Tom Frost passes on
It's a sad day as Chimera Founder Tom Frost passes on. Tom Frost was a famous US Climber and founded our beloved company Chimera Lighting in 1980 to provide high quality modifiers for the film and photo industries.
Tom Frost was born in Hollywood in 1937. He went to school for mechanical engineering at Stanford, and in the 60s was a major player in Yosemite. Tom also made expeditions to the Himalayas.
“Tom proved a great example of how to do it right,” said Alex Honnold. “He was a high-end climber who had a balanced family and work life. What a legend. Hopefully he’s satisfied with the life he lived—certainly the rest of us are inspired by it.”
“He was a renaissance man from top to bottom,” Joyce Frost said, “and he’s been an extraordinary partner for me. He’s shown me that the best thing you can do is live your life well. The gifts I’ve been given from Tom are immeasurable. I’m very happy, no regrets.”
“How you do anything,” he’d often say, “is how you do everything.”
Our condolences go to the Frost Family. May his spirit inspire us all.
