Context: In my fic, Mako managed to procure a Spirit Stone (plot device that enables ghosts to be resurrected/resurrect themselves from their graves) and used it to try and attack Jax and Dee Dee.
They defeated him temporarily and broke the Stone in half, confining him not quite to his grave, but to the cemetery where his body lies.
While skulking in circles around the headstones, trying to find some sort of escape to begin rebuilding his power, Mako reunited with a newly-visiting Wilson DeVries…
…who, in my lore, stayed in the Army after the third book by transitioning to being a regular private and only using his mind-bending in interrogations.
Anyway, Wilson and Mako meet again and it’s just as weird and uncomfortable and creepy as you’d think, and they beat up Tommy pretty badly, but he ends up alright.
Wilson found a red-and-yellow crystal in a pawn shop, and decided to gift it to Mako on the off-chance that the guy had somehow cheated death, and it turns out that that crystal gives Mako the power to roam completely freely (for about an hour)…
…in addition to giving him the Blood Ghost form. Inspired by DC’s Brother Blood, he can use the staff to hypnotize people in addition to his eyes. (Unfortunately, the former didn’t work on Tommy cause he’s colorblind XD)
