Today I'd like to share the atmosphere of a local farmers' market in Beijing.
The market is called Tuanli Daji (疃里大集). It is located on the south side of Luyuan North Street (潞苑北大街), east of Sihai Apartment (四海公寓), in Tongzhou District, Beijing.
The market follows the traditional Chinese lunar calendar and is held on the 1st, 4th, 6th, 9th, 14th, 19th, 24th, and 29th day of each lunar month.
What I love most about this market is the incredible variety of products available.
Fresh vegetables, fruits, meat, and seafood sold directly by local farmers.
Everyday household items, clothing, flowers, and ornamental plants.
Traditional Beijing snacks and local specialties, including jianbing, Chinese jujube cakes, osmanthus cakes, braised beef, grilled pork, donkey meat sandwiches, and both hot and cold noodles, all at very affordable prices.
There was actually much more to see than I managed to capture in the vdo, so this is just a small glimpse of the market's lively atmosphere. If you're looking to experience everyday local life in Beijing, this is definitely a place worth visiting.
