Some photos from the recent Stanleys conference and awards, run by the Australian Cartoonists Association. We held them in Hobart for the first time this year, a good move I think.
The colour ones above (feat. Tony Thorne, Ed Iffland, Matt Golding at Salamanca) were taken on my Canon DSLR with a sweet Mamiya-Sekor 58mm f/1.7 lens.
Then I let BOTH DSLR batteries run themselves down by leaving the camera on overnight. So for the rest of the trip I had to switch to my Yashica Samurai x3.0, loaded with expired Kodak Tech Pan (a huge camera+film matching mistake: Tech Pan needs to be shot in a very specific way and the Samurai is a point-and-shoot which decides how IT wants to expose your film).
Nevertheless, Good Time Film Lab in Bentleigh rescued the pics with (probably) a two-stop push. Ta guys.
Below we see some shots from our trip to MONA and some flash pics from the Stanley Awards.
