" So Who's this girlfriend I heard about, Dewford? " - tookthespear
{ ☆ } Gaze darts away from his phone at the sound of his mom’s voice, a big grin forming on the duckling’s face at the sight of Della. No matter how many times he’s seen her since she finally returned to Earth, he still finds himself filled with a rush of excitement whenever they get a chance to interact. It kinda reminds him of the time he and Lena attempted to free the Jade Tigers being kept at a local zoo. Dewey had nearly gotten eaten three times that day. It was awesome… Speaking of awesome- “Oh, right! I never told you, huh?” The duckling enthusiastically chimes, vivid blue eyes sparkling and phone (carelessly) tossed onto the nearby couch. “Well, you better get comfortable because I’ve got a lot to tell you…”
As much of a performer as he is an adventurer (perhaps even more so) Dewey dramatically sweeps his arms in an arch as he says, “Picture this…” Get ready Della, because your boy is about to tell a story. After all, he can’t pass up the golden opportunity of someone actually being invested in what he has to say. “A wicked witch, a daring adventurer, a deadly feud… and caught in the middle of it all, the coolest girl ever.” Fists clench in front of him, tiny tail wagging without his knowledge as he continues, “Imagine the awesomest person you can. Then make them ridiculously pretty and brave and smart and nice… But not a push-over nice. The kinda nice that’ll punch you in the arm when you’re being stupid.”
Fist pumps in the air, pride evident in his voice, “Then multiply the amazingness of them by a million and you’ve got Lena DeSpell! My girlfriend…” Hands resting on his hips, chest unimpressively puffs as he continues, “Lena’s the best! She used to be Magica’s shadow, but through pure will and the power of how much she cares about us… BOOM!” Air is punched to accompany the sound. “She broke free! Helped us defeat her Aunt, got a body of her own (we’re not entirely sure how, but whatever) got adopted by Gyro, became one of my best friends-” Some time is taken to delve deeper, Dewey occasionally getting sidetracked and jumping around in his story/stories when he remembers something Della HAS to know.
Eventually, he concludes with- “You’re gonna love her, mom! Lena’s super fun to be around, has cool dyed feathers, and she is really nice to me…” The good kinda nice. { ☆ }
