The Development of Eddy's Brother's Design
Hey guys, there've been a few new archival updates I felt deserved posts! Recently on Instagram, Toomey shared his development sketches that led to the final design for Bro and of course this has always been of utmost interest to me.
Sorry if this post is spoilers for any new Eds fan, I know it's the last scene of the movie but this character's existed on-screen for over 10 years now!
Seems like the design started out very focused on developing Bro's image as some type of jock. That one that's sort of a fusion of the Rolf-hair portrait of Bro in Eddy's stairwell and Scoot is truly disturbing. The Scoot-influenced one in the middle below is creepy as well.
I'm glad he called these regrets, haha. That is exactly how I felt designing my Bro Show characters though, and this is exactly how they looked at first too.
These next ones return to trying to figure out how to balance every detail we knew about Bro so far and I really appreciate that level of care. They focus on figuring out his facial hair and hat/hair. You can see Danny red-circled the goatee that Bro's final design ended up having.
This is an alternate sketch (an earlier rougher stage) we've seen of Bro with his fedora and business shoes.
And here's his official model sheet for the final design that was used in the movie:
The chair of the Washington County, Pa., Republican Party blasted Sen.
Yet another Republican censured for listening to facts, following evidence, and doing his fucking job.
GOP Senator Pat Toomey voted to convict Trump in his impeachment trial. He issued the following statement explaining his vote:
“I did what I thought was right and I would certainly like to think that regardless of my political circumstances or whether I was running for office again or not I would do the same thing.”
This displeased the Washington County GOP, which promptly voted to censure Toomey for daring to oppose Trump. The GOP’s stated reason for formally censuring this duly elected representative:
“We did not send him there to vote his conscience. We did not send him there to do the right thing or whatever he said he was doing. We sent him there to represent us.”
The GOP finally admitted out loud what everyone already knew: It doesn’t matter that Trump was guilty of inciting an insurrection against Congress and the government of the United States of America. The official GOP position is that every loyal Republican must completely disregard facts, law, and reality as utterly irrelevant, and, very simply, must never ever vote against Trump (or any Republican, really) for any reason whatsoever. Period.
