Country Road 🇯🇲 Toots Hibbert passed away on September 11. The world lost a musical legend and one of the founding fathers of reggae.
When I received Rolling Stone issue 1343 in the mail, I was thrilled to see Toots on the first page! This was a few weeks before it was announced that he had Covid-like symptoms.
I was excited by the prospect of using Toots in a future collage. Little did I know it would end up being a tribute to this Jamaican hero.
I highly recommend reading the Rolling Stone article “A Reggae King Rises Again” by Jason Fine. Toots’ personality and story is captured in a truly captivating and tangible way.
