There is a playlist on Spotify called âYou and Meâ. I have decided to start a loosely affiliated drabble series based on these songs - one for each song. This drabble is part of that series.Â
Welcome to âLove Songsâ.

âThe tickets will be waiting for you at the box office,â you could hear Tylerâs smile through the phone, âso make sure you bring an ID to pick them up.â
âOf course,â you tried to sound excited through the pain.
âAnd I assumed you would be bringing Marie, so there are two tickets,â his voice changed from excited to concerned.
âThanks,â you count out the painkillers in your head before picking them up from the counter.
âAre you alright?â his voice was small, âyou seem distant.â
âOh, Iâm sorry,â you wince, you werenât doing as good a job as you thought, âI just have a headache is all.â
âAnother one?â his voice was serious now, âyou had one just the other day too.â
âItâs just stress from work, is all,â you pop the pills into your mouth, âpromise.â
âAs long as you are taking care of yourself,â he seemed to relax.
âI am,â you quickly swallowed a glass of water.
âIâm so excited to see you,â Tyler said softly, âitâs been too long.â
âYeah,â you smiled. It had been almost a year since the last time the two of you had spoken face to face - too long. While you had been close since about your sophomore year of high school, this growing thing between the two of you had never really been addressed. You didnât keep in touch with other friends from fifteen years ago like you did him, and there was something that wasnât there before. It sat between the words you did manage to say, like a weight on a scale, tipping your feelings in his direction.
âIâm going to let you go, so you can get some rest, okay?â he yawned.
âOkay,â you resisted the urge to yawn as well.
âGood night, Y/N,â he paused for a moment. âSleep well, Lollipop.â
You felt your heart skip a beat, he hadnât used that name for you since before the band had gotten big. It had been years.
âYou too, Maverick,â you returned the gesture, hoping it sent some of your feelings silently over the phone.
âSee ya.â
âYeah, see ya,â you hear the silence settle on the other end before lowering your phone from your ear.
You would talk to him tomorrow after the show. You had to. About everything.
Tyler threw his arms in the air, the roar from the crowd washed over the stage like a breaking wave.
Another glance over his shoulder, towards the side of the stage - the tech shook his head.
Feeling his heart drop a little lower, his fingers found the keys for the next song and he shook his head, a little harder than normal to adjust his thoughts. He needed to be here, to be in the now - these people had come for a show and he would give them one. They were important and should be his priority. But the empty stage left, and the unclaimed backstage passes slowly ate away at him as the night wore on.
âThis next song is for my main man, Josh,â he pushed through, he always did.
âWhatâs going on, man?â Josh wiped down his face with the white towel. âYouâve been off tonight.â
âIâm sorry,â Tylerâs fingers massaged his forehead. âShe didnât show up.â
âY/N?â Josh frowned as his shoulders fell, âso, Marie didnât either?â
âNo,â Tylerâs voice was quiet.
âYou should call them,â Josh put the towel down and stretched his sides, âsomething might have happened to them.â
âYeah,â Tyler dug through his dressing room bag, âI just hope theyâre alright.â
âIâm sure itâs nothing serious-â Josh was cut short by the look on his bandmates face, âwhat is it?â
âI have sixteen missed calls from Marie,â Â he rubbed the back of his head as he pulled up the voicemails, âI think I might need to go.â
âYeah man,â Josh watched Tyler pace as he listened to the panicked sound in Marieâs voice over the phone.
Tylerâs eyes were wide as he jumped between messages. âSheâs at Wexner,â he cut off Marieâs last message, âletâs go.â
He paused in the doorway of the small hospital room. It was dark except for the small fluorescent light near the bed. Marie turned in her chair to look at them, there were tears in her eyes. She bit her bottom lip before turning back around.
Tyler slowly crossed the room. Stopping at the end of the bed.
And Iâll use you as a warning sign.
That if you talk enough sense, then youâll lose your mind.
âShe looks so small,â his voice was barely audible. The number of things hooked up to your body was overwhelming. âWhat happened?â
âThey think she blacked out,â Marieâs hands were in her lap, she was wringing them together, âshe ran a light and hit a tree.â
And Iâll use you as a focal point.
So I donât lose sight of what I want.
âBlacked out?â Josh stood behind Marie, resting a hand on her shoulder gently, âis that something she does?â
âItâs happened a few times before,â Marie glanced up at him. Tears ran fresh down her face, âI should have taken an hour off work,â she began to gasp for air, fighting back sobs, âI should have driven her. She had been having headaches, I knew it wasnât good for her to be driving alone.â
âHey, hey,â Josh came around the chair, âthis isnât your fault.â He took her hands in his.
Marie was trying to regain composure.
And I've moved further than I thought I could
But I missed you more than I thought I would
Tylerâs hands slowly found their way towards yours, âshe had a headache last night.â
âDid she?â Marie wiped her cheeks, âyou should tell the nurse when she comes back. She didnât mention it to me, so I wasnât sure when her last one was.â
âWhy was she getting headaches?â Tylerâs fingers wrapped around yours, âwhat are they from?â
âShe was in a really bad car accident almost a year ago,â Marieâs hands squeezed Joshâs, âthe Doctorâs arenât sure why she keeps having them, or why sheâs blacking out. Sheâs been getting tests done.â
âWhy didnât she say anything to me?â Tylerâs eyes began to fill with tears. He continued to stare at your face, all bruised and cut up from the collision.
And I'll use you as a makeshift gauge
Of how much to give and how much to take
âYou were touring,â Marie sighed, âshe didnât want to burden you. It seems silly now, but she was so determined not to be a bother. Not to dissuade you from what you were doing.â
Tyler clenched his jaw, âyeah that sounds like her.â
Marie stood up, âIâm going to go get some coffee. Give you some time with her.â
âIâll go with you,â Josh trailed after her. âThat is,â he paused and glanced at Tyler, âif youâll be okay.â
He only nodded.
I'll use you as a warning sign
That if you talk enough sense then you'll lose your mind
âYouâre an idiot,â he mumbled to the room, âyou should have told me.â
He leaned forward and rested his forehead against the back of your hand.
âIf you donât wake up from this,â his voice caught in his throat, âIâll never forgive you, you know.â
He felt some pressure as your hand gently squeezed his. He looked up. Your eyes were still closed but he could tell you were listening.
âI sang a song for you tonight,â he ran his finger tips over your knuckles, âitâs an old one, Iâm sure youâll remember it.â
He inhaled and began to sing, his voice quivering, âThe only difference between life and dying, is one is trying, that's all we're called to do. So try to love me and I'll try to save you. Won't you stay alive? I'll take you on a ride, I will make you believe you are lovely.â
And I found love where it wasn't supposed to be
Right in front of me
Talk some sense to me
âSo, professor could you help me to decide for a good topic for my thesis?â I was in Lebrun professorâs office, TOP was at home âsure, do you have any ideas in mind?â he asked âyes, I was thinking about the controversy of âsex-dollsâ and maybe the history of the beginning of the points or how the lack of communications affects politics between the pointsâ I explained.
âOh I see, but I guess youâre more interested in the first topic due to I have investigations in that area, and you have come to ask me... soâ he told me then he sipped his cocoa âyes, well... Iâd like to ask you many things about this, I do already have more information about the points and... I just want to find a topic which I could enjoy investigatingâ in fact I was lying, I just wanted to know more about âsex-dollsâ to protect TOP better, and of course I wanted to learnt it from a trustable resource.Â
âOkay, so what do you want to know?â he asked smiling kind âFirst, Iâd like to know about how long do they liveâ I questioned âwell, they live the same as normal humans, see theyâre humans but people reduce them to a simple penis or vulva. They donât like the idea of abusing a human but abusing a âsex-dollâ is different because they think theyâre made for doing it, you know have sexâ he sipped his cocoa again, by the way he talked about this issue you could feel all the helplessness he felt for not be able to help those poor beings.
He continued âafter all, they think that âsex-dollsâ are an object, so people donât regret abusing them... because they donât conceive theirs acts such as, thatâs an interesting topic as wellâ he knew a lot of this current situation in our society, he sighed âhowever, sex-dolls are made to grow up rapidly, more than a normal human and to get older⌠slower, I can sayâ he added. âCould you explain me more details?â he nodded âsure. See, in five years they look like an 18-year-aged person, their minds mature at the same time. So, it is not like they still think as a kidâ he took a pen from his pencil case to play with it, it seemed that talking about this issues disturbed him.
âIn that five years they are submitted to an especial training... so...â professor Lebrun was thinking about how to say the next sensitive information âthey basically are taught how to please both, men and women with plastic models so they can conserve their âvirginityââ I chuckled âdoes people really cares about virginity nowadays? They're such-â I was cut off by Professor Lebrun âbastards? Yeah, they are!â he looked to be as annoyed as me with this situation.
âWell theyâre taught many other things like playing different instruments, sing, dance, you know, they are taught to do that kind of stuff for mainly âentertainingâ purposes, that is what the âfabricsâ sayâ. He was looking at his desk while still playing with his pen between his fingers âI studied, illegally of course, those âfabricsâ⌠those ones who do not obey are punished brutally, so the instructors do it, many times, to the point of breaking them completelyâ he sipped his cocoa again to calm down before he continued âtheyâre brain-washed" I commented âyes, at first the instructors do so, you know, just a stupid speech and thatâs all. But for a better control over them, the instructor punish them a lot, even if a sex-doll behaves as they are told, sometimes they just got punished for no reason. So they all end up brokenâÂ
I was surprised, many resources do not told you about this, and if they, it is not as professor says. Perhaps, it is because if they publish what really happens inside⌠well it is so cruel that the owners of that enterprises will threat anyone who publish this, I am sure of that âso, they are tortured almost every day, until they do not talk to another âsex-dollsâ again, not to anyone but theirs ownersâ he stayed quiet for a moment furrowing his eyebrows as if containing tearsÂ
âProfessorâ I called him âyes?â I tried to figure out what to ask âthey are infertile, arenât they?â I gulped, trying to maintain composure after hearing such a things âyes, however⌠thereâs a pretty low possibility of they conceiving children, but it is almost impossibleâ I nodded âI seeâ I took a big breath âthere´s another way to know they are âsex-dollsâ more than the tattoo they have?â I asked âno, I guess thereâs no other way... I couldnât access to more information about that, sorry... but doing it by theirs DNA is completely impossible, the DNA only will show the donator of itâ he explained âI see, if I would like to know more about this could I come here to ask?â I held my backpack âof course, you canâ. I walked annoyed through the corridors, how can human be so cruel? All I do wanted in that moment was to arrive at home and hug TOP.Â
âŚ
âDon't let people break youâ I said he raised his eyebrows, a group of friends at my faculty commented some harsh things about himâŚ
âMaybe he is with her to get moneyâ
âYeah, I don't know him, but sure heâs just an opportunist, he seems like thatâ
âWhy does the daughter of the (y/LN) is dating someone like him?â
They were gossiping nearby âjealous?â Takashi told them, they were surprised, they believed that they were not heard âDonât lose your time, love. After all who they are?â Neal commented, I glared at them then they better left.
However it affected TOP, all that day he was quiet, when we arrived home he just sat on the couch looking at his hands. I asked him to don't hear to those comments, he just nodded sad. At night he just went upstairs and laid down on the bed, he was in fetal position, I hugged him he didn't move all that night. He was tired I knew it, when I woke up I kissed his cheek in the middle of the night he was deeply asleep I noticed that the pillows were wet, he was crying all that time.
The next days he was the same, little by little he was recovering again, I was so mad at those guys, how could they express about others that way?Â
âŚ
âYou are such a fucking liarâ Takashi was at our house yelling at me âwhat are you talking about?â I asked âI believed you not were like themâ he added âbut you all are the sameâ he was so mad at me âexplain me, please, I do not understand!â I yelled this time âare you okay, ___?â TOP asked me shy, standing behind me âhe's your sex-dollâ Takashi said âwhat?â.
âDon't try to hide it, I know it!â he told me âno, no, you are wrongâ I tried to explain everything âdon't fucking dare to speak!â he said âheâs a sex-doll and you are bullshitâ TOP was getting scared by how Takashi was screaming âcalm downâ I said firm âwhat are you going to tell me? That he's not a sex-doll?â he commented chuckling âjust look at your scared he is, they get in that state when someone yell!â I looked at TOP he was crying behind my back he had an anxiety attack I guessed, âSee, Takashi, he is⌠justâ.Â
âOh! you still trying to deny it, you know they go nuts when they hear âred, red, redâ he yelled at TOP he fell on the ground in his knees, he was just there waiting, trembling tears falling over, his eyes asking Takashi for compassion, his hands at the sides of his body âhe is a sex-doll, they do this to the poor beings, he's ready for his punishment, how can you support something like this! just look how scared he is! you are such a-â he said âget out my fucking house!â I pushed him towards the main door âno arguments?â he told me âIâll punch your goddamn face, if you don't get outâ.Â
I shut the door, I walked to where TOP was, he was even moaning did to the fear he was feeling âsweetieâ I called him, he looked at me, tears rolling down his face âsweetie, Iâm hereâ he ignored me and practically crawled upstairs. I ran to our bedroom, he locked himself again in the closet, he was trying to calm down by himself â__-__â his quivering voice called me âyes, my love, Iâm hereâ. âDon't let them touch me, they always hurt me a lotâ he said through the closet door âno one will, I swearâ I was there about two hours waiting for him, he didnât talk again. Â
He slowly opened the door, and crawled into my lap âI'm here, I'm hereâ I said âthank youâ he said trembling as the first days âit is okay, my darlingâ I told him. He hugged me tight âsorryâ he commented âI'm causing you problemsâ he couldnât calm down âno, noâ I told him âI will do anything for you, anythingâ. We stayed there he slowly stopped trembling but in the middle of the night it take long to him to being okay again.
âLet's go to bedâ I told him, I helped him to stand up âcome here sweetieâ. â___â he mumbled âhush hushâ I kissed him âwhat if he tells someone else?â he asked âI'll do everything to keep you safeâ I caressed his hair slowly âno need to worryâ.Â
TOP's point of viewÂ
Everything was dark maybe I fell asleep â____â I called my lover â___â no answer, I walked out the bedroom, I froze when I saw who was walking towards me âshe's not hereâ that voice, my chest was about to exploit, my heart was pumping hard â___â I called her again almost screaming.
âShe's not here to help youâ a punch in my tummy made me cry âyou're as pathetic as beforeâ. âLet me go! ____! ____!â I tried to escape from the grip of those hands, I couldn't, it didn't matter how hard I push 'herâ. âDon't touch me, I was laying on the bed suddenly âlong time we don't play like thisâ her hands over my body again âmaybe you need me toâŚâ she took my toes in her hands âplease noâ I begged.
Hey there! long time Iâve not updated, Iâll explain later in my notes of the next chapters the reason, Iâd like to be Heard about that.
Hope every one is doig well and healthy, you know the madness of coronavirus...
Summary: Youâve finally finished cleaning your apartment and are ready for a relaxing night in with your boyfriend. He just canât seem to get in the âno hijinksâ mood too. TylerxReader
Warnings:Â None. Just fluff, really.
Dedication: @ohprettyweeper
You roll the lower rack of the dishwasher into the machine and close the door. You breathe a deep sigh of relief as you press the power button and hear the water whoosh on. It had taken several hours, but you were done. Your whole apartment was cleaned and decluttered. You were just picking up your phone to check the time when your doorbell rang.
Your stomach jumped as you grinned and padded softly over to the front door, your extra cushioned socks silent on the hardwood floor. You took a breath to calm your giddiness before opening the door.
âI hear someoneâs been working hard all day,â Tyler grinned at you from under his black baseball hat, âand I believe you need a Chinese takeout break.â He held up the plastic bag with food from your favorite place.
âOh, youâre so sweet!â you step out of the way so he can come inside.
He stepped through the doorframe and gave himself a slight shake, âbrrrr, itâs really cold out tonight.â
âIs it?â you took the bag from him and carried it into the kitchen, âI havenât left all day.â
âOh, wow Sunshine,â he looked around the redone living room, his mouth slightly open, âyou really did get a lot done.â
âItâs nice to finally have it all finished,â you pulled some plates from the cabinet. âIt finally feels like I actually live here.â
Moving away from home had been a daunting task. You had lived in the same town your whole life, but the opportunity to work at the hospital in Columbus had been too good to pass up. Tyler had been looking around for work where you lived, but with the job offer at Wexner Medical Center, you both agreed it was fate for you to move to him instead. It had only been about a month since you had made the move, but you were settling in nicely - with Tylerâs help, of course.
You finished putting the food on the plates and carried them into the living room. He was looking at the family pictures you had hung, his hands in his pockets. You stood next to him, trying to see which one he was looking at.
âThatâs my cousin and me from when we were really little,â you held out his plate for him.
âOh, thanks,â he smiled, âI could have gotten my own.â
âI think you were too busy being enthralled by my decorating skills,â you chuckle and sit down on the couch.
âIâm always enthralled by you,â he sat down next to you.
You could feel the flush of heat under your skin as he continued to just stare at you. There had always been something in his gaze that struck a chord deep within you. His eyes made your soul sing and your heart race.
âWhat are we watching?â he asked suddenly and turned to face the TV.
âWell,â you turned away, trying to hide the effect he had on you, âI was thinking Jurassic Park.â
âOoooh, yeah,â he grinned, âgood choice.â
You both finish your food and spend the duration of the movie cuddling on the couch under a fluffy blanket. By the time the credits start to roll your eyes are heavy. Somehow the two of you had ended up laying on the couch, him on his back and you tucked between him and the couch. You could hear his heart beating in his chest and the rise and fall of his breathing was lulling you to sleep.
âI should get ready for bed,â you yawn.
âUgh,â he kicked his feet playfully, âI donât wanna go back out in the cold.â He pretended to pout, his bottom lip stuck out comically. âCanât I just stay here?â
âI donât know,â you pushed yourself up, immediately regretting the choice when the cool air rushed in under the blanket, âI have to work in the morning.â
âI wonât keep you up,â he continued to pout, âpromise.â
You sigh. âFine. But I need to go take a shower, so youâll have to entertain yourself for a bit.â
âNo problem,â he smiled.
You playfully smack his chest, âwhy canât I ever tell you no?â
âBecause Iâm adorable,â he gave you a playful toothy grin.
You roll your eyes and climb over him. Folding the blanket you return it to its place on the quilt rack. Tyler helped you clean the dishes and followed you down the hall to your room.
âOh my goodness,â he grinned when you opened the door, âitâs soâŚâ
âSo what?â you look around the room. Everything looks fine. Itâs all put away and tidy, just like you left it.
âPerfect,â he continued to grin, âlook at that bed!â
âWhat about it?â you look at your bed. The pile of bears you had collected over the years sat to one side, with all your pillows to the other.
âItâs so well made,â he moves towards it, âI want to jump on it.â
âWhat!?â you half yell out of confusion, âno! I just finished making it less than two hours ago!â
âBut, butâŚâ he turns to look at you, âoh, okay fine.â
âIâm going to take a shower now,â you grab a clean towel from the hall closet, âIâll be quick.â
âKay,â he crosses your room to where your stereo is sitting on a shelf, âlove you.â
âLove you too,â you watch him press a few buttons.
âCan I turn on some music?â he glances at you before returning to the nineties tech.
âSure,â you turn and head to the bathroom, âcds are in the drawer below.â
âOhhhhh, whooaaa,â you hear him exclaim as he pulls the drawer open.
The hot water was soothing and you could feel how tired you were from spending a day cleaning. The sound of music playing from your room could be heard over the sound of the shower, but you couldnât make out what was playing. You finished your shower as quickly and toweled off. You changed into your pajamas that were hung on the bar from that morning. You slowly opened the bathroom door, hoping you could sneak up on Tyler and get a glimpse of what he was doing in your room before he could see you. Â You could hear Tyler singing along with the lyrics from down the hall. The music was S Club 7, a band you had enjoyed since their days on the Disney Channel.
âDonât stop, never give up, hold your head high and reach the topâŚâ his voice was shaking as if he was physically exerting himself.
You tiptoed down the hall and peeked around the edge of your door frame. There he was, shirt off, back to the door, dancing on your freshly made bed, invisible mic in hand.
âDream of falling in love, anything youâve been thinking ofâŚâ he leaned back and wailed along with the song.
âTyler Robert Joseph!â you yelled putting your hands on your hips.
He froze.
The music continued to pour out of the speakers, unaware of the damage it had participated in.
He slowly turned around, a tight smile on his face and his eyebrows lifted.
âI canât believe you!â you stared at him.
âYou know better than to leave me alone in a room with a perfectly made bed!â he motioned to the stereo, âand music this dance-worthy.â
You continued to stare at him.
âIâll fix it,â he stepped down from the bed and started to frantically pile the bears on the bed and tuck them under the blanket, âplease donât make leave.â
âYou are incorrigible,â you make your way to the stereo to turn it off.
âNo, no, no,â he hurried around the bed, âI wanted to dance with you.â
âTyler, I need toâŚâ you started to argue.
âPlease,â he wrapped his arms around you.
You sighed, enveloped in his warmth, âone song.â
He skipped forward on the cd to your favorite slow song on the album, âjust one song, I promise.â
You wrap your arms around his waist and rock with him back and forth.
âWe are two in a million. Weâve got all the luck, we could be given. If the world should stop, weâll still have each other. And no matter what, weâll be forever as one,â he sung along with the chorus.
You closed your eyes. And decided that even with your bears disturbed from their place on your bed, it had been the best night ever.
