Tora and his father/grandfather (can't be bothered to remember their names) are all perverts, end of story

They made a robot of a young girl for the express purpose of serving them (which like Tora is a child ig but that doesn't excuse that he was making a loli ffs), and then they like program her to do "Blushy Crushy" which is just uwu-type stuff explicitly made to be romantically appealing

And like all her upgrades are even worse with the second one being a maid outfit and the third being a realistic af robot with boobs and butt and a very small leotard, sexualized to hell and back

See I know that every character in xc2 is sexualized (which I think is a problem) but it's worse here because Poppi is a goddamn child and her first lines are "ready to serve you master" or smth, I also know that she's supposed to be Tora's blade but they could have framed the dynamic to be like siblings or something and wouldn't that have been so much better and more wholesome and less able to make me puke

But no Tora's an irredeemable piece of garbage of a character and if PoppiQTpi wasn't the best blade in the game he'd be benched forever

Please bear with me, I haven’t played through XC2 in a while.

I don’t like Tora much. There’s a lot of weird nonsense he does which I assume we’re meant to let fly cause he’s the nopon, the cute one, the little guy, but ummm no?

The whole maid function that Poppi α has? (Yes, HAS and not HAD, cause Tora doesn’t actually get rid of it, he simply places a different setting and unless I’m wrong, his dad asks him if it’s serving him well and his using it is alluded to in the game?)

He deflects by saying that it’s a remnant of his Grandpa’s and Dad’s work on Poppi but it’s pretty obvious that he fully intended on using it to play into his fantasies and the only thing that stops him in that moment is embarrassment? Mind you Poppi α has the mental capacity of and general appearance of A CHILD which just makes what’s already bad worse?

I don’t remember much about Tora’s interactions with Qt, but I’m pretty sure there’s some quest dialogue and H2Hs where Qt alludes to the not okay stuff Tora does and gets cut off or interrupted or whatever and it’s played up as humour??? Again, Qt is given the physical form and behaviours of someone who’s in late middle school or early junior high, which makes it worse???

And of course, there’s the Japanese version of the Qtπ H2H on the World Tree Poppi talks about a special dog feature that Tora gave her and then starts barking? The English version of the H2H is better, but that doesn’t mean much when they’re both bad, does it???

And the biggest problem imo is the power dynamic between Poppi and Tora. Unlike an ordinary Blade-Driver relationship, which ALREADY has a power differential (cause remember, the Blade’s life depends on their Driver’s) Tora’s relationship to Poppi is literally Creator-Creation.

He’s quite literally her master(pon (but that’s too cutesy for what we’re discussing here)).

Basically Tora(and family) created Poppi to satisfy their fantasies, and the problem here is that while she is a blade and Tora(and family) wished to be drivers, he uses her as an object for his weird fantasies? Gross.
