They had come along way, and Evan wanted to do a special date night for Rhys and himself. He thought long and hard about what the two of them could do, and he had settled on putting something together that was more personal: the two of them staying at home, a home cooked meal by Evan, and maybe watching a movie after along with cuddling. It was supposed to be perfect, but it wasn’t going as smoothly as he had been hoping. As he pulled out the chicken dish he had made, he quickly gagged as the smell of burnt food filling in his nose. ‘Of course I messed it up!’ He shouted in his head. Evan grabbed the pan and dumped the entire thing in the trash before looking through the cabinets for something else he could make quickly. When he found mac and cheese, he quickly put some water on the stove and let it boil. Walking out of the kitchen, he moved to the couch to sit down next to Rhys. “So dinner is going to take just a little bit longer,” Evan told him, forcing a smile. ‘Also because you don’t know how to cook, and you burnt the entire meal you spent hours on, so you’re stuck with stupid mac and cheese. Hopefully he’s not disappointed.’ Evan sighed and rested his head against Rhys’ shoulder.
