hellooo! so a while back I heard the ukulele cover you posted and it was SO good and I just wanted to send you this for a couple of reasons,, (a) what strumming/ plucking patterns do you prefer because ive been doing a lot more chords lately and your plucking sounds really nice and (b) do you use a pick? (this is for science)
heyyy! ,,, thankyou sm:)
a) so plucking and strumming really depend on the song and vibe you’re going for but here,,
for starters there is the island strum [ DDU-UDU] which honestly works with a lot of stuff if you change up the tempo and know what you’re doing
then w more upbeat songs i use { D-UU-D-UU-DU-DU} sometimes
theres {D-D-UDU}
{DU-X-DD-X-D}
w/ balads you could use C-E-A-E (plucking)
one that works w a lot of songs is G-C-E-A-E-C
you could also add chucks and mute the strings to replace certain elements
okay these are just what i could remember rn , there’s honestly a lot of room to experiment w them and there’s always YouTube ,,,,,what I mostly do to figure out a strumming/picking pattern for a song is to mute the strings and and try to match the beat of the song while it plays n ofc for original comp. just go w the vibes ,
b) I absolutely hate using a pick w the ukulele
(I’ve tried doing that and it just makes the sound piercingly loud and the strings buzz)
