Nokia X3-02 Touch and Type and Care Center issues
i've got this phone for LESS THAN A MONTH and i'm already having problems with it.
FIRST ISSUE: the phone has a Communities app that you can access your twitter and facebook accounts. since i'm more into twitter so i added my account.
supposedly when you "add" your twitter account, once successfully signed in it will direct you to your twitter timeline. if you click (touch) the HOME bar, it would show a drop down option so you can access your Mentions.
once on that screen (Mentions), if you select Options (lower left) it will show you a list including Refresh. the term itself should serve it's purpose right? but with this phone IT DOESN'T. if you select Refresh the screen should "update" but instead of updating my twitter mentions, it goes back to my Home Timeline. i had to MANUALLY go back to Mentions to check if it was updated,unfortunately it wasn't.
in order for me to get the updated Mentions i have to LOGOUT my twitter account and REMOVE it from the Communities app and ADD IT AGAIN - HASSLE MUCH RIGHT? i don't think that it should work that way. don't use the term REFRESH if it doesn't at all. again we're talking about MENTIONS.
another issue on that app (Communities), you can change the settings of your choice. apparently the phones' home screen (main display) shows your Communities. it should refresh according to the owner's settings. because of this feature i set the updates on my phones' home screen from 12am-12am so it would be 24hrs (mind you it was also mentioned to set the time like that on the app's TIPS). IT NEVER UPDATE MY TIMELINE AT ALL. don't tell me that perhaps i didn't have internet connection that's why the app doesn't refresh automatically, i have wifi 24/7 there is NO reason for me to lose the connection (unless if there is a power interruption).
THIS APPLIES TO FACEBOOK AS WELL (yes i tried it).

SECOND ISSUE: the TOUCH SCREEN interface. the lower right corner (just above the power/end call button - the one with the black strip) is starting to LIFT.
IMAGINE a flat surfaced item applied with a double sided adhesive tape, you stick it to a wall. after a time, the adhesive wears off and the item starts to fall off. ok fine, for a lack of better term UMAANGAT YUNG INTERFACE NG TOUCH SCREEN STARTING FROM THE CORNER. and i'm very concerned that in the long run AANGAT NA LANG SIYA NG BUO.
i have to press on it PARA LANG MAG SETTLE. after a while AANGAT ULIT.

THIRD ISSUE: the BATTERY. it's extremely HOT everytime i charge the unit (i only used the one that came with the phone since i didn't want to let the phone/batt get used to multiple chargers).
i had to unplug the phone from the charger and plug it again after a mins (when it's no longer hot). it's been a routine for me everytime i charge.
i already called CareLine for this and spoke with the supervisor MAY who was kind enough to assist me. we REINSTALLED THE SOFTWARE (the latest version) via OVI SUITE - IT DIDN'T HELP. so i was advised to go to a care center.
i went TODAY around 3pm to the Tomas Morato branch. the attending rep that time was ERWIN SANCHEZ. i explained to him IN DETAIL the concern WITH DEMONSTRATION specially the Communities concern. i thought he understood me so we agreed that their tech will do a software upgrade (how many upgrade does this phone needs anyway?!) so technically they will reset the phone (yep all files gone but i was able to make a backup of my contacts and messages via OVI).
the part for the touch screen interface was not available at their branch (he even wanted me to go to North EDSA - hello it would take me forever before they could fix the phone since it's located in a mall,am sure they A LOT of clients there). so i had to wait but Erwin said the tech will still determine if it needs replacing or whatever.
as for the battery, needs to be observed.
Erwin promised to give me a call before their branch closes (7pm) to give me an update.
6pm i started calling their branch (yes i can't afford to be patient anymore) NO ONE WAS ANSWERING THE PHONE that's supposed to be a way for the client to keep in touch with the branch.
PAST 7pm i got a call on my mobile, it was Erwin Sanchez. he said that the Communities app for twitter is working fine and it's already refreshing. I KNOW THAT IT'S REFRESHING!.so i asked him to TEST the MENTIONS which was supposed to be the main concern. guess what? Erwin DID NOT understand pala my concerns WHILE I WAS AT THEIR branch. apparently the rep is not familiar with twitter. there is no harm in asking, he should have asked me or told me that.
what's worst he even said that the phone is a bit hot while he was browsing the net using my phone. I NEVER COMPLAINED ANYTHING ABOUT THE PHONE BEING HOT WHILE BROWSING. so ano, ADDITIONAL ISSUE WHILE THE PHONE WAS IN THE CARE CENTER'S POSSESSION?!?!?! IT WAS ONLY HOT WHILE CHARGING! CHAAAAAAAAAARGING FOR HEAVENS SAKE!
the care center is supposed to FIX the phone's problems and NOT ADD MORE to it.
frustrating, really frustrating.
THIS PHONE SHOULD BE RECALLED BY NOKIA.
WITH THE REP AT THE CENTER, I WILL DEAL WITH HIM TOM PERSONALLY.
IF NOKIA CANNOT FIX IT (THE PHONE IS WITHIN WARRANTY,UNIT IS NOT ABUSED/MISUSED ETC) I WILL DEMAND A BUY BACK.
NAKAKALOKA, INIS KA NA SA PHONE, LALO KA PA MAIINIS SA CARE CENTER.
