I swear it's the last one 😂 Types of kisses, number 10
Thank you so much @allons-y–spaceman for your ask and so so sorry it took me so long to write it. I hope you will like it, I ended up writing too much (as always) hahaha
Trigger warning: child victim/death.
This prompt is set in season 5.
10. Comforting kisses
“Mom, it hurts…” Six years-old Emily muttered.
“ I know, baby, I know…” Sharon whispered, tears gathering in her eyes. “But you’re strong, sweetheart… The ambulance is going to be here soon. Hang in there…”
“I’m scared, Mom…” Emily’s voice was barely audible. “And I’m tired…”
“Emily, you listen to me now.” Sharon firmly ordered to her daughter by raising her trembling voice. “You keep talking to me and don’t close your eyes. Don’t go to sleep EVER, you hear me, honey?”
Emily nodded weakly. Sharon looked at her daughter’s face and noticed she was very pale. She pressed harder on the wound on Emily’s chest, but it seemed as though nothing could stop the blood from coming out and the little girl’s breathing became more labored.
“Mom… do something… make it… s-stop…” Emily painfully coughed as she began to spit out blood.
Her eyes started fluttering as she fought to keep them open. She lost the battle after a few seconds and her chest slowly stopped rising as Sharon frantically screamed, “No, Emily, NOOOOOOO!”
Sharon sat right up in bed, her heart pounding in her chest and damp with perspiration. She brought her hand up to her face and noticed tears streaming down her cheeks. She quickly wiped them away with the back of her hand and tried to control her trembling with deep breaths. She suddenly felt a hand in her back and slightly jumped at the touch. She knew through the darkness that Andy had woken up. His sleepy voice called out to her, “What is it, Sharon?”
“Uhm, nothing…” Sharon quickly answered while trying her best to sound firm and convincing. “I just need a glass of water.”
“Let me grab it for you.” Andy offered. As he sat up in be he added, “I need one for me as well.”
Andy was out of the bed before Sharon could pull convince him otherwise. He sleepily walked out the door as Sharon lay back down. She drew out a heavy breath. Her nightmares had increased in the last two days and while she had done a good job of hiding them from Andy, this one shook her to the core. This was the first time the victim of their case had turned into her own daughter. She shuddered and tried to get out of her mind the image of Emily covered in blood.
The case had started out as a missing child case. The team worked day and night, unable to catch a break, and yet had hoped to find the little girl alive. Amelia. A six-years-old kid with big dark eyes and long brown hair – Sharon couldn’t get the girl’s face out of her mind – torn between her parents’ divorce. Sharon thought back to the picture she had pinned on the whiteboard in the Murder Room. She shuddered at how the smiling girl in the picture clashed with the outcome of the case.
The team had found Amelia. Alive. Her father had kidnapped her, refusing the possibility that his ex-wife might get full custody of their daughter. He had hidden Amelia in his hunting cabin located in Angeles National Forest. The team was split into smaller groups while searching for the right cabin. Sharon, Provenza, and Julio reached the place first and the situation quickly deteriorated. Mr. Fields opened fire on them as soon as he noticed their presence.

The Indians used such amulets to ward off evil spirits and protect themselves from unfavourable energy during the rest. Believe it or not - it's up to you. Whatever it was, the cover turned out to be unusual and memorable and able to distinguish your smartphone among thousands.
Thank you for the lovely stories! I would love another Shandy for 73, maybe The Closer times or begining of MC :)
Aww, thank you so much @neverlendbookss for your kind words! I am so happy you enjoyed my previous stories and thank you for sending this ask.
Here is my take of the prompt line you’ve sent to me and as you’ve requested, it is set in the Closer times, somewhere during season 7. This is a very long prompt, I hope you will like it! ;)
73. “Excuse me?”
Flynn rubbed his eyes as he walked down the division’s hallway. His day was far from over and he could already feel exhaustion creeping through him. He definitely needed a boost to keep going, and he was sure that some hot and strong coffee would do the trick. His hand was on the breakroom door handle, but he stopped when through the glass wall he noticed someone already inside.
Captain Raydor… Andy sighed. The woman was everywhere lately; following the team and watching each one of their moves. The last thing he needed was to enter the breakroom and to have the wicked witch watching him and questioning him about his need for coffee. He chose to give up on his beverage momentarily and was about to walk away when another movement inside the room caught his eyes. He moved a little from the door to have a better view and noticed that the Captain wasn’t sitting alone at the table. On one of the chairs was a little girl with long brown wavy hair, wrapped in a blanket. He would have wondered about her identity if he hadn’t spotted what appeared to be bloodstains on her floral dress. Andy immediately put the pieces together as he recalled Provenza’s report from the crime scene.
The team had been called to a crime scene about three hours earlier. A family had been attacked in the middle of the day inside their house in Silverlake. The parents were already dead when the paramedics arrived on the scene, their five-year-old daughter Natalie was seriously injured, but alive. Chief Johnson had requested that Andy go to the hospital so he could collect the evidence and ask about the little girl’s condition. Provenza had told Andy that while they were processing the crime scene, with Captain Raydor following them as their shadow, they had found another little girl hiding under Natalie’s bed. She had blood on her dress, but she appeared unharmed. The girl was Natalie’s friend who had been invited to her friend’s house after school. Before Chief Johnson even had the time to think about what to do with the child, Sharon had stepped in. She had crouched down to look at the kid in the eyes, convincing her to come out of her hiding place with a soft tone. Chief Johnson and Provenza had exchanged a look, taken aback by the unexpected sweet tone of the Captain’s voice. They didn’t have the time to comment about it as Sharon had already taken the child in her arms and assured Brenda that she would take care of the kid. She had then silently left the room and the crime scene.
Now here she was, sitting at a table in the breakroom with this child. Andy watched her and noticed that the Captain looked really different from how she was with the team. The girl was obviously talking to Sharon about what had happened at her friend’s house, because the Captain was writing notes. She carefully asked the kid something to which she got an answer and she added a few more words to her notepad. Sharon then closed her notepad and put it to the side as she turned to face the child. She smiled at the girl and gently stroked her hair before adjusting the blanket the kid had wrapped around her thin body.
Andy was clearly surprised by her gentleness. He wasn’t sure he had ever witnessed such a sweet scene involving the woman whom they all called the wicked witch. As he looked at her, her nickname suddenly lost all its meaning. He studied her as she carefully checked the temperature of the liquid inside the mug before handing it to the girl, her hands staying on the mug as she helped the kid to take a few sips. Sharon then put the mug back on the table when Andy noticed the girl’s lips moving. Judging by the look on Sharon’s face she seemed to be asking something serious. He saw Sharon move from her chair and crouch down in front of the kid before putting her hands on the girl’s knees. Andy read seriousness on the Captain’s face as she answered the child, but her eyes didn’t lose any of the sweetness they had before. Andy noticed the kid’s shoulders suddenly start to tremble and he could tell she was crying. Before Sharon could react, the little girl threw herself into the Captain’s arms. She tightened her grip and quietly soothed the child. Andy watched Sharon with curiosity as she quietly rocked the little girl in her arms. He was having trouble recognizing in this sweet and caring woman, the Captain who tormented the team every single day. A smile crossed his features as he saw the child calm down and snuggle against Sharon.
“Lieutenant Flynn!” a familiar voice called to him from the end of the hallway.
Better Than We Used To Be: A The Closer 7x18 one-shot
Here I am with a new one-shot!
I was rewatching The Closer 7x18 "Drug Fiend" and suddenly, this scene came to my mind and I had to write it! It takes place at the end of the episode, and it is the follow-up of the scene where Sharon and Brenda's team are in Electronics watching the suspect's interview. I hope you will like it!
Feel free to tell me your thoughts about it! I’d appreciate that, thank you! The complete story after the gif or you can read it here!
BETTER THAN WE USED TO BE
Sharon straightened as she felt Andy brush against her. She was still standing near the desk in Electronics along with Brenda’s team after witnessing one interview that would stay with them for a long time. Sharon sighed and turned around to watch him storm out of the room, abruptly closing the door behind him. She frowned as she looked at the others. They didn’t seem to have noticed Flynn leaving, or at least they didn’t acknowledge it. They looked frozen, still dumbfounded and horrified at the admission of the man they had just arrested.
Sharon excused herself. At their lack of reaction she wondered if they had heard her, not that she expected some kind of reaction anyway. She silently closed the door behind her and started walking through the hallway, wondering if something was off with Lieutenant Flynn. She decided she would eventually look for him once she prepared herself a ginger tea and took a break from the strenuous case they had just closed. She quickly reached the break room and opened the door. She stopped in her tracks when she realized there was someone else in the room. She took a deep breath, straightened her blazer before walking to the counter.
“Lieutenant,” she simply said.
Andy was sitting on one of the stools. He turned slightly to look at her, but said nothing. He merely nodded and she gave him a faint smile before looking down and walking to the cupboards. She chose a mug and picked a tea bag while waiting for the water to boil. She stopped and bit her lower lip before turning around hesitantly and asking, “Would you like some?”
The Lieutenant slowly lifted his head to meet her gaze. He unclasped his hands that were resting on the counter, revealing a mug as he offered her a weak smile and replied, “I’m good.”
Sharon nodded and turned her attention back to the kettle when she heard him whisper, “Thank you.” She smirked as she poured the hot water in her mug and waited for the tea to infuse. She could feel his stare on her, but she kept preparing her tea undisturbed. She removed the tea bag and threw it in the trashcan before taking her mug, turning around, and leaning against the counter. Flynn immediately looked down, losing himself in his coffee. She cleared her throat and opened her mouth to speak.
“Helluva day.” He let out without bothering to look at her, before she had the chance to say a word.
“Indeed.” She agreed as she cautiously blew over her hot beverage. “Are you okay?” She asked studying his tense features.
“I’ll survive…” he shrugged before taking a sip of his coffee. “The only reason though I didn’t barge into the interrogation room and put my hands around that asshole’s neck is you.”
Sharon frowned, tilting her head and pressing her lips in a thin line as he clarified, “I figured you wouldn’t have been happy with an excessive use of force complaint to add to my already so full package…” He added with a grin.
“Well good thing I was around then, Lieutenant.” She replied with a smirk.
“Very good thing, Captain.” He echoed as he stared at the brown liquid in his mug.
Sharon carefully sipped her tea and then tapped her fingers against the mug as she hesitantly said, “Your reaction though would have been, if not excusable, at least understandable. This case is truly horrifying and unfortunately, it is far from over.”
“Can you imagine finding out you’re going to die, not because the cancer was too far ahead, but because you weren’t receiving the cure you thought you were?” He closed his eyes as he took a deep breath in an attempt to control the anger showing in his voice, “All those people lost so much precious time and it will probably be too late to save them now…” he added in a defeated tone.
Sharon sighed and she met his gaze before replying softly, “Maybe it won’t be too late for some of them… and Lieutenant, think of all the people we were able to save by finding out what this despicable human being was doing.”
“Asshole would be the appropriate word to use in this case.” He corrected her.
Sharon looked at him and it surprised her to think that Flynn was right. “Indeed. That word, and I can think of another couple of them right now.” She added with a hint of contempt in her voice.
Andy couldn’t help but chuckle, slightly taken aback by her unexpected answer. He stopped his mug before it touched his lips, his eyebrows furrowed as he thought of her previous words. He nodded and said, “But you’re right. Always seeing the glass half full, Captain.” He remarked with a light smile.
“We have to with our jobs, Lieutenant.” She reasoned. “I’m not always able to do so, but it sure helps with the difficult cases…” She took a sip of her tea before adding, “And today it was one of them, especially for Chief Johnson…” She added, cautiously eyeing the Lieutenant in front of her.
88 shandy? Thank you!
Thank you so much @mikusc for the ask! I’d like to apologize for the delay, real life got in the way and I didn’t have much time to write lately.
Now here I am and the prompt challenge is slowly coming to an end. This prompt takes place at the end of 3x06 “Jane Doe Number 38″. I hope you will like it!
88. “I’m better, now that you’re here.”
The team progressively left, directing small smiles to Andy or giving him pats on the shoulder. Andy nodded to each one of his coworkers; thankful they had all joined him in the service he had organized for Alice, or whatever her name was. He hadn’t expected everyone to be there; he was surprised at first when Morales and Hobbs had tagged along, but he was glad they did. This was far more than paying their respects to a dead homeless girl, this was the proof they all were a team and that they stuck together in hard times. Maybe this was enough to end the day on a bright note.
Andy had exchanged one last glance with Provenza before the older Lieutenant nodded to him and disappeared down the end of the hallway, just as the rest of the team had done a few minutes earlier. Andy sighed and leaned against the wall, the exhaustion of the day creeping through him as he closed his eyes. He heard heels clicking near him and he didn’t need to open his eyes to know who it was. He would recognize her walk even in a crowded place. When he finally cracked his eyes open, two mesmerizing green eyes were staring back at him. She was standing silently next to him. She offered him a faint smile before saying, “It was such a beautiful service, Andy… and it was so thoughtful of you.”
Andy didn’t say a word. He didn’t know how he could possibly answer; he lowered his head as he had done previously during the service. When he looked up again, she was still there, staring intensely at him. He was slightly taken aback by the feelings he was reading in her expressive eyes. He couldn’t remember the last time he had read pride or admiration in someone’s eyes. He had seen disappointment, hurt, sadness; he was usually the one who let people down. All of this felt new to him, and he couldn’t believe that someone as special as Sharon would be so proud of someone as screwed up as him.
“How are you?” Sharon asked him softly, tilting her head as she studied the man in front of her. She was aware of how much the case affected him. She had witnessed him dealing with his conflicting feelings during the course of the day; anger, frustration, sadness… It was sadness she had read during the service, as his face had turned into a pout before he had lowered his head.
“I’m better, now that you’re here.” The words slipped from his mouth and when he realized what he had just said, it was too late to take them back. He didn’t dare look at her, too afraid to see her reaction. He cursed himself for not being able to hold his tongue and for saying reckless things like he just did.
“I’m glad I’m here then.” She softly replied after a few seconds, interrupting his thoughts and placing a comforting hand on his shoulder. She gently squeezed it. Andy slowly looked at her hand on his shoulder before hesitantly meeting her gaze. She was smiling reassuringly at him and he surprised himself as a smile crept across his features, even if he didn’t really feel like it.
“Let’s go to my office, we’ll be more comfortable.” She offered as she quickly brushed a hand down his arm.
