Episode Title: Four Heads Are Better Than One

MY 15 FAVORITE MOMENTS IN EPISODE 79 (manga chaps 117 and 118):

1) Toujou being a total mama bear, but Kyuu-chan did look pretty cool.

2) Toujou being a super duper total mama bear again. I was surprised Kyuubei didn’t kill him for that.

3) Poor Hijikata must’ve really gotten hurt by Kitaouji.

4) Ok in the manga, he didn’t get the crow. I felt bad for the crow but also kinda amazed he got the crow.

5) I was yelling at the tv a lot and probably yelling at the pages a lot when I read the manga during this chapter: HE HAS CLOTHING!!! WHY DIDN’T HE JUST USE A PIECE OF HIS KIMONO???

6) I will never be able to get the image of a naked Binbokusai out of my head.

7) Tae-chan basically steamrolling over her in-laws because of her concern for Shinpachi.

8) These four idiots who can’t seem to remember THEY HAVE CLOTHING THEY COULD’VE USED A FREAKING PIECE OF THEIR CLOTHING!

9) These awkward overhead shots courtesy of the anime team, those pervs.

10) Yep, I screamed YOU HAVE CLOTHING a lot.

11) Toujou’s weirdass metaphors...which really were an excuse to reference other series.

12) Just cuz Gin-chan looked all debonair and he took a hearty bite of a weiner.

13) Kondou actually said that. The anime team made it so much more pervy than Sorachi-sama.

14) Again, more pervy in the anime than the manga.

15) Dear Kondou, sacrificing his poor ass just so he wouldn’t sully Tae-chan’s beautiful image. That’s absolutely love.

SHIPS TALLY:

Kondou x Otae: man is in love. I almost wish Tae-chan knew what he did for her, but she’d probably be disgusted by his bathroom issues.

Toujou x Kyuubei: obviously he didn’t love Kyuubei as much as Kondou loved Tae-chan, but at least he did hesitate for a bit.

Hijikata x Shinpachi: because Pachi-kun was really concerned about Hijikata the entire time.

A Gintama episode a day keeps the ending away...Episode 88

Episode Title: The Most Exciting Part Of A Group Date Is Before It Starts

MY 15 FAVORITE MOMENTS IN EPISODE 88 (manga chaps 138 and 139):

One of my faves because it’s so hilarious and cute!

1) Kyuu-chan is sunshine.

2) Personally I thought the dresses were cute but I respect Kyuubei’s reaction. 

3) I would’ve like to know more about the Yagyuu’s battle against the dark Yagyuu clan but what I thought was adorable about this scene was Sadaharu actually reading Toujou’s diary.

4) Gotta respect Toujou for being committed enough in his empathy for Kyuubei that he’d be willing to cut off his own tower of Babel.

5) Bless Shinpachi for being the only woke person in the gang. 

6)  Toujou totally deserved that for being gross and honestly slacking off when everyone else was diligently looking for people to join the gokon.

7) She’s so kyuuute!!!

8) This is MY joy.

9) Kondou’s face! Not only did Gin-chan kick it into turning into someone else’s face, but I half expected his eyeballs to just pop right out completely.

10) Kyuubei looked so damn handsome and noble.

11) Sure, the whole gokon was arranged because of some pretty misguided notions about gender identity and sexuality, but it was still hilarious to see such a motley group sitting together. 

12) The way Gintoki looks AND the fact that he wanted all the phallic looking mushrooms Kyuubei rejected. I refuse to believe there’s no significance in that.

13) Everything about this.

14) That goofy grin. Love him.

15) I thought this was a cute ending at first but the more I think about it over the years, the odder it is because really nothing became of it. It was a romantic moment between Gintoki and Kyuubei that basically amounted to nothing. Still sweet but perplexing.

SHIPS TALLY:

Kyuubei x Otae: everytime they’re together and I see how happy Kyuubei is, my KonTae loyalty is totally challenged to the point that I would be happy to see this ship sail already. 

Gintoki x Kyuubei: this was and to a certain degree still is my hetero ship for Gintoki, and it pretty much started here. I really thought that Sorachi-sama was going somewhere with them but of course now, like a decade later, nothing’s for sure anymore. 

Toujou x Kyuubei: he probably wants her to stay a woman so that one day, he might have a chance with her. Not that he is even worthy of her but he’d probably be good for breeding and bossing around.

Zura x Elizabeth: they’re basically one unit.

Kondou x Otae: she kinda touched his balls.

Kondou x Zura: I would love to hear the horrible music they would’ve produced together.

Kondou x Sacchan: I think they’d have better success with each other than with the two other people they’re stalking. 

Gintoki x Zura: so much love between them. 

Gintoki x Sacchan: I can believe that in any alternate universe, Sacchan would still be stalking Gin-chan.

Gintoki x Otae: she was so obviously jealous of the attention Gintoki was paying Kyuu-chan.

Gintoki x Kagura: she said it herself. 

Gintoki x Everyone: I mean, this is pretty much a given always though isn’t it?

Episode Title: Rank Has Nothing To Do With Luck

MY 20 FAVORITE MOMENTS IN EPISODE 83 (manga chaps 127 and 128):

I LOVE THIS EPISODE!!!! I wish it was longer than one episode.  

1) Tae-chan’s sleep pose.

2) Gin-chan deserved that...not for being insulting, but more for being stupid enough to say something insulting about Tae-chan to her face.

3) Damn right there was. 

4) Kyuu-chan looked so pretty!!

5) I hated Toujou a little for being gross. 

6) Kyuu-chan basically describing a soapland nuru massage. I blame Toujou’s influence.

7) I actually thought Kagura-chan was beautiful...in a unique and quirky way, yes, but she definitely looked better than Catherine.

8) The fact that her get-up had no affect whatsoever on Gin-chan made me admire him even more. Obviously he looks beyond the superficial in a mate.

9) Toujou and Catherine were pretty much useless.

10) I loved Paako and Pachi!! I was SO DISAPPOINTED when our Shinsengumi boys didn’t stay and join in the fun as well.

11)  I can’t believe the anime team managed to make ShigeShige’s outfit even worse than it was in the manga. His nekkidness was a definite improvement. I don’t think I cared much about Shi-chan when we first met him. Like, he seemed to be a nice enough shogun, obviously had the tolerance of a saint, but otherwise, since I didn’t think we would see him much anyway, I didn’t really give him much thought. I miss him so much now.

12) The ladies really getting into the Shogun game. I liked the demons from hell effect, courtesy of the anime team.

13) Amazed Matsudaira didn’t shit his pants from seeing what was heading right at him. 

14) Shi-chan really is such a goofball. His abs were pretty impressive though. Who would’ve thunk the Shogun works out.

16) Poor Shi-chan. First he gets made fun of for his undies, then for the size of his penis and then for the smell of his undies. He totally was getting bullied.

17) The close-up was courtesy of the anime team and I could not be more grateful for the mosaic and for the fact that it wasn’t in 3D.

18) I would’ve loved what the hell the “hostesses” were even doing to the Shinsengumi to bring about this kind of explosive result. Helicopters were being smashed midair, ffs. Must’ve been a bloody battle. 

19) I actually thought it was a really sweet and almost romantic moment between Kyuubei and Shi-chan...

20) ...but then I immediately went back to feeling bad for him. She even threw the bench on him. I mean, OUCH. I’m amazed his balls survived the impact.

SHIPS TALLY:

ShigeShige x Kyuubei: at the time, I really thought Sorachi-sama was going somewhere with this potential ship. It would’ve been neat to see it happen. I do feel a bit disappointed that he didn’t go that way with their relationship after all. 

Okita x Sacchan: on paper they’re pretty perfect for each other, and it would’ve been adorable in a kinky way. I doubt they would have survived the experience but I would’ve loved to see them try.

Toujou x Kyuubei: I do ship them because I always forget about Toujou’s whoring ways, but when I do remember, I don’t want him anywhere near Kyuu-chan. 

Gintoki x Kagura: Kagura was being super jealous that Gintoki didn’t think she was beautiful. 

Gintoki x Sacchan: of course.

Gintoki x Shinpachi: lotsa under-dressed physical contact going on. Plus they were communicating through ESP.

Kondou x Otae (and maybe Kondou x Hijikata x Otae as well): didn’t think Kondou was the sharing type but then again, Hijikata is one of his closest bros.

A Gintama chapter a day keeps the ending away...Lesson 628

MY 13 FAVORITE MOMENTS IN LESSON 628:

1) I couldn’t decide on the representative panel for the fact that everybody we cared about was there (except those in space), so I had to chose this generic one which was effective in driving home the fact.

2) Dear sweet Shinpachi...it made me happy to see so many different people fighting together too.

3) The new and improved Hedoro-eva.

4) Just...their judgey reactions.

5) Amazingly, Gintoki actually made Hedoro even creepier than he looked before.

6) Poor Kondou...not even good enough to be straight man fodder.

7) Honestly, I echoed their reactions to Hedoro, Kondou and Gin-chan’s straight-man routine.

8) Again, dear sweet Shinpachi...for recognizing how hard Gintoki has been fighting for all of them.

9) I loved Gintoki’s words to Kagura and Shinpachi: “You did well keeping up with this good-for-nothing boss. But maybe it’s thanks to such unreliable adults that you two have gotten stronger.”

10) I wished so much that they lasted longer so that they COULD have heard what they don’t get to hear too often from their “boss”.

11) Okita yawning. I don’t think I need to explain further.

12) I actually wanted Hijikata to be looking for a partner for you-know-what during the black-out, but of course I didn’t want it to be that lady...or a lady at all. 

13) I was worried...although, truth be told, I thought they would attack the town during the night, when everyone had their guards down. Kiiiinda wish that happened cuz it would’ve been pretty brutal. 

SHIPS TALLY:

Toujou x Kyuubei: Kyuu-chan looked so pretty and it was so sweet that Toujou was loyally by her bedside, but I was most of all relieved that she was just sleeping and not dead. 

Gintoki x Sacchan: I doubt Sacchan would’ve helped the birthrate considering where she was positioned, but I can never fault her for trying to take advantage of a situation...even though I still wish she would just give up on Gin-chan already.

Gintoki x Tsukuyo: I was so freaking sure this was going to lead to the official canonization of this ship...I was prepared to mourn the death of my OTP. 

Sacchan x Tsukuyo: I do think they would make a cute couple, but since I also can’t for sure say my wish for this ship is born from a sense of altruism, I’m not gonna push too hard for it.

A Gintama chapter a day keeps the ending away...Lesson 599

MY 12 FAVORITE MOMENTS IN LESSON 599:

1) I want Zura to get anything he wants because I love him.

2) I didn’t understand half of what these two dorks were talking about but I loved watching them banter like old times.

3) Kagura’s expression. She really had the best faces in this chapter.

4) Omg I wanted to vomit when I saw this. I love Gin-chan with all my heart but his eating habits are downright disgusting sometimes.

5) Just more of Mutsu to love is all I saw.

6) I loved that that was the only insult dear Kagura could even come up with. She’s such a sweetie.

7) NobuNobu deserved that, and it was a joy seeing Kagura take so much pleasure in poisoning his food.

8) Again, Kagura’s expression was priceless. And that looked like dog food. I guess NobuNobu earned half a brownie point for forcing that down his throat.

9) I didn’t think I would ever want to see NobuNobu take dump but I did like seeing him suffer.

10) Dear Shinpachi on the verge of having a brain aneurysm as usual.

11) These three idiots...NobuNobu could never be a replacement for ShigeShige or even Kurokono, but seeing the three of them decked out in sweats was pretty amusing.

12) I loved those old ladies.

SHIPS TALLY:

Zura x Elizabeth: they’re like an old married couple as usual.

Zura x Sakamoto: if you ignore what they were saying, Zura looks like he’s about to kiss Sakamoto. 

Toujou x Kyuubei: pretty sure Toujou was going to whack off to the video of Kyuu-chan’s bravery later on. 

Saigou x Katsuo: normally my ship for Katsuo is with Kyoushirou, but I really was kinda getting vibes from him and Saigou so I can definitely be converted.
