This is a two minute song that I could use as one mini Tova soundtrack. 0:00 - kaldyri 0:30 - huntress 0:40 - journey south 0:47 - ambush in the shroud 0:57 - death (birth of fury) 1:05 - vengeance 1:29 - blood 1:39 - home (drums of war / a promise)

headcanon: tova's favorite holiday is the rising and she has never eaten a cake she liked
Headcanon accepted. Tova has always adored the Rising - she finds most Eorzean holidays to be a bit too doom and gloom for her tastes, but the Rising? It’s so bright and happy and loud and basically one giant party in celebration of life despite all hardships... Yeah, that’s definitely something she can get behind.
As for the cakes? That’s definitely something I can see. Kaldyri desserts consisted of mostly spiced fruits and pies. Cakes are weirdly spongey to her.
I was chatting with someone about how I don’t think Tova would ever want to kill Maahes, and that she actually views Maahes as Eastern Thanalan’s ‘guardian.’ Then I mentioned Tova’s respect and love for coeurls in general... which was a mistake, because my internalized Beastmaster!Tova feels escaped.
And now I have a headcanon where Tova was travelling to some incidental location, and a coeurl attacked. Tova responded to it, fighting back but not attempting to kill, just to intimidate, and injure if necessary. And then the coeurl just stops attacking after some time, backing off completely, like it accepted her dominance.
idk guysssss I just feel like Tova would go though lengths to not kill something she didn’t have to, feral territorial threat displays included.
tova / kaldyr + feathers
The Kaldyri don't use feathers for ornamentation - only as fletching for the tribe's hunters. Tova will occasionally have a feather or two in her hair, though. She likes the symbolism.
tova + deserts
Tova was so excited to see ‘real’ desert sand for the first time. She thought it would be like snow; soft, light, and feel great against her skin. She was very, very wrong. The coarseness unnerves her.
She likes climbing, hunting from trees, exploring, and varying weather. In the case of the Sagolii, it’s mostly flat and indistinguishable to Tova.
As a miqo’te from the north, she’d be miserable in the heat, and would need to stay in some sort of shade at all times.
random tova fact #361: Tova would refuse to have sex with Kazh if her coeurl kitten was in the same room. She was religious about making sure it was either exploring outside or in another room before doin’ the do. (especially after that one time where she had to stop Kazh mid act to move the cat)
tova + tunes
While not a bard by any means, Tova has an immense love of music. Her tribe, the Kaldyr, is not a literate tribe – all stories and legends are told via the spoken word, song, or dance. As a soon-to-be Ahlfyra (alpha), Tova had to know them all. Not that she minded – she learned them all at her grandfather’s knee as a kit, wide-eyed and eager to learn. On many occasions, she would be found in the tavern, drinking mead and leading her fellow hunters in song, or dancing atop tables. Nowadays, if you’re lucky enough to catch her with her guard down, you might find Tova occasionally indulging in a song and dance. She has a striking voice – but you will never hear her sing in Common, only Kaldyri.
