I love being tagged in posts, and I love seeing all the birds y'all show me. Sometimes I'm unable to reblog them for one reason or another though - this doesn't mean i appreciate it any less!

I block liberally for a variety of reasons, all the way from bigotry to annoyances to regularly posting Harry Potter bullshit. I have a zero tolerance policy. If you put Queen FART-face's media on my dash, knowingly and willingly, I will block you.

I try to keep up on politics and how to best respect people whose experiences I'm unfamiliar with, but I definitely still have blind spots due to a variety of factors. Please point them out to me if and when you see them, and I'll do my best to verify and solve the issue.

I do my best to add alt text / IDs when I'm able to, but I don't always have the energy/wherewithal. If you reblog a post of mine adding stuff like this, I will be forever grateful.

Similarly, I do my best to add content warnings for both common triggers and things that I've been told are triggers for people close to me - that said, sometimes I either don't have the energy or I'm just straight-up so taken aback by the horrors of the original post that I can't figure out what to tag it with. If you want to add a content warning, go ahead - but if you're an ass about slur reclamation I won't hesitate to block you.

I will also do my best to add tags to indicate adult content; however, I am very likely to forget or be unsure what to add. I recognize that people below the age of 18 are fully capable of finding and enjoying the kind of content that sends conservatives and puritans into a moral panic and me telling them to stay away does nothing. As such, I'll be saying this instead.

I can't tell you what to do. Experiencing arousal/attraction/desire is perfectly reasonable, especially by the time you're legally old enough to be on tumblr. However, I will advise you to stay safe while online in any of these spaces. Don't start talking to folks in them, especially if they're adults.

I will also ask that you not talk to me on posts like that, for both your safety and mine. If you are a minor or do not specify that you're an adult and you start talking about this stuff with me, I will have to block you. Don't make me do that.

Random question, what’s your favourite species of bird? Or perhaps your favourite “kind” of bird?

OOH OOH I LOVE BEING ASKED ABOUT FAVOURITE THINGS LIKE BIRDS AND FLOWERS. /GEN

There are so many birds in the world, and I'd probably end up having tens of favourites if I went through all of them. So instead of doing that to myself, I just determine a set few I can recall quick because too many will end up forgetting.

I love magpies! I love crows and ravens, too, but felt like magpies don't get the same attention. They're protective of their territories, and really smart. And of course they're absolutely beautiful. They've been known to use tools, pass the mirror test, and other ways we humans determine intelligence and sentience in other animals. My persona's wings are based on Eurasian Magpies!

I also love pigeons. They were companions, carried our messages. A beautiful bird outshined by doves. As an autistic person, I never understood why I would lose friends, and felt like I was left behind and forgotten growing up. I'm trying to understand, now, but it's hard to let go of the pain. I felt like I was only remembered if they needed something (not material things, but like company or a laugh), or simply because they forgot I existed and showed up again. Maybe I had bad friends, or maybe we were just young and learning how to form relationships and maintain them. Either way, I felt like a pigeon, even if it wasn't the intent of these people. I find a comfort in them, and hope to have some as pets, one day, when I'm capable. It's also reassuring seeing how they're becoming loved once again, that people are being heard about the injustice we did to them. It's a slow process, one that has been going on for years, with little pockets of communities growing.

Those are the two types of birds I hold near and dear. I love other birds like canaries and seagulls, which I have reasons for them, too, but I've rambled enough. Djfjcng
