Presenting you the previous generations of the cat and the rat. This is a part of my gift for @mistergrass as they are her OCs ╰(*´︶`*)╯.
Dude the whole ordeal with Ayame and Shigure in your fic killed me in the best way possible. I'm not sure if you have anything to elaborate on that particular relationship, but if you wanna talk ore about what they're both thinking about that I'd absolutely love to hear it. isjasgsakjfb I love what you write, and I hope you're doing well!
Thank you so much, I have had SO much fun writing Ayame and Shigure!!
And I would love to answer this ask, but I think I might wait until to divulge any more thoughts on this until I’ve posted the next chapter (which is coming very soon 👀)
I finally did another 4 koma after years. So um basically this is my fluff headcanon of Tsuna and Yahiko having a meal together. Damn Yahiko, you just have to attack Tsuna with your smile >///<.
You get me. YOU GET ME. I dragged my old high school buddy back to fruits basket hell and we were talking about this the other day. I said Yuki when faced with jealousy would be snarky and passive aggressive. It broke my heart when you wrote that Kyo didnt want another reason to be different. Lmao didn't stop me from thinking at the time tho, oh, oh God Yuki is gonna be piiissed.
I MEAN those little negative emotions gotta come out somehow, hahahaha.
But tbh if Yuki had found out about the kid at the time it was happening, he would’ve been a BIG OLD MESS of terrible stinky feelings. It would have been a complete nightmare for both of them lmao
They're finally free and happy together :').
I just got to the Shigure chapter in your fic and I just wanted to say I'm a wreck and in love at the same time. You write him getting used to Yuki so beautifully!!! I know it was mentioned there that Yuki really didn't bring much stuff to the house. So, I was wondering if Shigure ever had to take him shopping for clothes or school supplies or something. If he did, do you think it would have been one of the times where he realized "this kid wasn't as pampered as I'd thought"?
!!! Thank you so much, I’m so glad you liked it! It was one of my favorites to write, and one that I’d been excited to write for awhile!
Yuki really didn’t bring much with him to Shigure’s house. He didn’t have a lot of personal affects, and his luggage basically consistent of clothes for each season, and a few books (including a book of ancient poetry that he’d found in an old bookstore, and after a little research, I also like the idea of him having the book Kokoro by Natsume Soseki -- something assigned as reading in middle school that just resonated very deeply with him).
To be honest, I don’t see him being very open about the things he needs for school or for himself, personally. He probably doesn’t go shopping for new clothes until he starts to grow out of his current ones. And Yuki and Shigure were so distant when Yuki first started school, that I can see him doing his own school supply shopping, as well (and liking it! since he enjoys that feeling of independence and taking care of himself).
That being said, there are certain things that I think give Shigure little glimpses into what Yuki’s life is like.
Shigure has a radio in his office that he likes to play in the background when he works sometimes. And after a little bit, Shigure starts to notice that Yuki sometimes lingers outside his office door when he has it playing.
When they start to get a little closer (ie, on speaking terms), Shigure decides to upgrade to a better radio and gives the old one to Yuki. Yuki regards it so reverently that it freaks Shigure out (ala Tohru using gift wrap ribbons in her hair hahaha). Like??? It’s just a radio??? Were you given nothing as a child???
And what’s worse, Shigure will come home sometimes to hear the radio playing in the living room or Yuki’s room, but as soon as he calls out that he’s home, the volume immediately goes quiet. The same goes for when Yuki is watching TV. If Shigure comes home after a long night out, and Yuki is in the living room--almost immediately Yuki will turn the TV off and go upstairs to his room. Even if Yuki’s just sitting and reading or doing homework, as soon as Shigure makes his presence known, Yuki is vacating any shared living area.
Shigure just kind of notices that Yuki is a very silent presence. And it takes him a little bit to realize it’s because Yuki still isn’t used to/comfortable with taking up space. Yuki radiates tension whenever he’s caught just living in this house that’s supposed to be for both of them. And he can almost hear these unsaid apologies when Yuki is caught listening or watching something before getting a chance to turn it down all the way.
It bothers Shigure, in that way that most things about Yuki bother him to a point where he can’t just let it be. So he starts to combat this by purposely making more noise in the house. He plays the television louder when he watches it, he talks loudly on the phone, he blasts his radio at night. When those things don’t seem to work (and actually seem to keep Yuki more secluded in his room), he starts encouraging Yuki in subtle ways to make more noise.
If he gets home and Yuki is watching TV, he asks him to turn it up but then leaves after only watching for a few minutes. When Yuki listens to the radio, Shigure shouts out that he likes the song and not to hog it to himself. He leaves books in the living room and when Yuki comes home from school, he asks Yuki to peruse through them for anything he might like (Yuki ends up sitting in the living room, flipping through them while Shigure reads his paper at the table, feeling a little smugly victorious at that one).
It’s really only when Yuki and Shigure start having their late night talks that Shigure realizes a bit begrudgingly that the more Yuki gets to know him, the less he cares about “being silent” around him (lol). But then again I think Shigure would prefer Yuki’s teenage snark over his “out of sight out of mind” mentality that Yuki had created for himself. (Cause honestly, Shigure just finds it really creepy hahaha).
