Like, ok, gen 2 was my first gen and trust me I ADORE Johto and all it's pokemon so so so much
But treecko was like...like he wasn't my FIRST starter, bc that was technically cyndaquil. But gen 3 was kinda the first pokemon gen that I really got INTO into?
Back in Ye Olden Days, like...I remember my brother and I both got a letter each in the mail from Nintendo. I opened it up and it gave details about Ruby and Sapphire. Pretty sure those letters were how we found out Ruby and Sapphire were even a THING, like this was a promo "preorder now!" Kind of deal.
But like, in the letter it showed all three starters, being all like "pick your favorite!" and I remember thinking about it so so so hard for probably a few DAYS before I decided treecko was the one I wanted the most
And I kept that letter until the games came OUT. I was sooooo excited to get a treecko that I'd just look at it's picture in that letter and think about the adventures we'd go on.
