Where Davey-esque David is (player-controlled) Stanley, and Jasper is the Narrator and after endless loops they kinda get to know each other and there's mutual affection? Also feat. Mute!David because I can.

Jasper starts off very frustrated at David. He won't listen! Jasper's clearly directing David where to go and David disobeys him at every turn. David just likes to explore, (that's why he doesn't follow directions) and you can see it in his expressions and gestures. It's part of what first endears him to Jasper. (Frustration to "oh no he's cute!")
David finds the broom closet. With the supplies he builds something random, but interesting. Jasper thinks it's creative and cool, but doesn't inform David of this and urges him out the broom closet.
On the other end, David likes Jasper's quick-witted remarks and soothing voice. To David he's expressive, and he likes that. His persistence to get his story told the way he wants is admirable to him, and Jasper has kept David company and has not abandoned him. For this Jasper has a special place in David's heart.
Once restarting and endings and all that junk come to into play, Jasper has finally given up on trying to tell David what to do. They both can have a laugh over the David Parable Adventure Line™ and realize some topics are too sensitive to ever discuss again. (Like David's possible insanity.) It's in trying to figure the whole mess out that they really become close and get to know each other better. Jasper knows when David wants some alone time. David knows how to respect and wait for Jasper when he gets deep in thought.
They have calm moments in the color room and spend time talking to each other. They get attached to each other real quickly, and hope that one day they can escape together.
