01: The Experiement by Dean Koontz.
What made this book so well was that it represented a character I could relate to during my young teen years, the female lead. Also I just loved Einstein and Travis. The writing style had me intrigued from the beginning, simple but clever and I remember going from every store in time to find it once I was done, since the one I had was borrowed.
02: Katriona Trilogy by Lene Kaaberböl.
This series of books became very dear to be. It had a dark fantasy, viking-like setting, a female lead (again) that I could utterly relate to. During the series there was many topics that came up that I had experienced myself, and the reactions of the lead role was pretty much like my own.
This is very difficult, because the next one on my list is a book with no title and no name. It was the first book I ever read. It was from one of the old - rarely touched - books at our home and it was very old. Like yellow pages 'n' shizz. But it have a story setting back in about 1800+ something? Where women could marry imprisoned men with a deathsentence, to rid themselves of their debts. The main character is one such prisoner, married off to a woman before his execution. Of cause he is saved and can't keep himself from seeking his 'wife'. Alot of humor, as he teases her and eventually steals her with him to sail to adventure - hence the adventure is described later.
How did it touch me? I still dwell upon the story even today, so it clearly made an impression.
04: Interview with the Vampire by Anne Rice.
What was so memorable about this story - besides awesome vampire concepts and a great storyline - is how true these characters are to something earthboundly human. It held me caught many times, by not only great writing but also an eager to know more about the characters themselves! There were times I was an emotional lunatic and there were times were I plain out just simply enjoyed it.
05: The Vampire Lestat by Anne Rice.
Where Interview with a Vampire provided a story from a ultimative suffering heart, The Vampire Lestat would step in to triumph it. I fell in love. Nuff said.
06: Daughter of Shame by Lene Kobberböl.
This book was just like Katriona a thing of my childhood. It still leaves me thinking of it to this day. And thus it deserves a mentioning!
07: The Story of Q
Anyone who knows anything about S&M would know what this book is suprimely about. To say it has sexual content would be to deminor it drastically, it involves about a sexual plot where desire is the ultimate goal at all times. As a read, it was not an intrigueing story experience but it was helpfull to a curious mind. What makes Q memorable, was how the female lead was able to be strong but submissive at both times. How our habits change in order to please those we love and the lenghts we will go to satisfy them.
08: Wicked Gentlemen
This was an ejoyment to read. One of the only same-sex orintated books I've had my hands on and I have been fangirling ever since! The universe is intrigueing and inspirering. The writing is amazing and I love the characters! Give it a read, seriously! <3
09: MANGA! by Mangaka's.
Do they count as books? Well comic books. But they get a mention, because omg I've read so much manga in my days! And they've had such big influence in my life and my interest in drawing. So GO MANGA/ANIME!!
10: The Game of Thrones books by Goarge R. R. Martin.
I am currently reading through them, but I am already into this so much! <3 So yeah, I PREDICT they will have an influence on me sometime in the figure ;) !
