Tracy Solomon // adding coloured thread to acetate image
I decided to look back at some of the previous artists I had visited throughout my FMP. The acetate faces were still missing something so I wanted to experiment with other medias on top of these. Tracy Solomon came to mind as she used thread to connect her images together in the piece. I found a bright coloured thread to show up from the black pen and used the same technique as she did onto the dot-to-dot acetate face of my peer. I decided to do this technique in the gap from the side of the mouth to the cheek on both sides. I like the way the thread looks on the image but I feel that I did it in the wrong place. The thread would have been a lot nicer to look at if it was just at one side of the face, the way I did it made the face seem stretched and too distorted. I was going to do another of these but I favored the next technique more, even if this had been successful.
