Arrived to Cotacachi

We have had trouble finding a Hostel that we can sleep decently in.  We are spoiled being used to cement walls and little ambient sound.  We are here during off peak time and many hotels are under construction.  However, I have high hopes for Cotacachi!  We shall see!  Oh, and this room even has a small electric heater! woot woot!  So far on the vegetarian front there have been let downs..  We are on the search for a good veg. option for Cammy.  We heard that this hotel makes good soups!  Cross your fingers!  

The hills here are a vibrant green, the people proudly display their traditional garb.  I'm still trying to figure out what is up with the hats.  All of the women wear these top hats that look like a mix between a fedora and a top hat.  I'm trying to figure out how that started.  Was it somehow great in the rain or warm?  I don't know.  Check out the link above to see pictures (including a woman wearing the hat in question).
