At this time of year—the end of winter and the start of spring—I loved going to cafés with my daughter to draw together. It was also when I began taking my sketchbook more seriously. Our favorite café, with its beautiful blue wall and mouthwatering sweets, made those moments even more special. - March 16, 21, 2024

i saw ringruru's video and decided to do my part in vandalizing yandev's characters. first victim patient is oka ruto because she deserved so much better

my redesign is very similar to ringruru's in some ways because their video inspired me so much, but i did add some of my own elements.

for fun, i painted the background in nail polish. also, i think it suits oka ruto's character

i couldn't decide whether i should make oka ruto very tall or short (not that it's obvious anyway). but i did decide on some other things.

i actually liked the spider thematic in the original and decided to keep and expand upon it. i was inspired by kimetsu no yaiba's character rui and emulated his hair style slightly to create a more spidery, prickly look. simultaneously, i decided to make oka ruto look more composed to help with the doll-like look (which i chose to accentuate with round and droopy eyes, sharp eyelashes, moles, and frail features). i decided to also make her a bit malnourished-looking in order to add to the effect. i added a spider clip and precisely-ordered hairclips for similar reasons. i imagine she has some sort of creepy necklace beneath her uniform's vest.

she turned out a bit too pretty but that's okay because i feel she still looks a little eerie even as she (unintentionally) emulates an old hollywood movie star look. maybe i'll play around with this design some more later

My daughter did ask me to draw Draculaura from "Monster high", that is her favorite character from one of the shows she like most.

Just a silly idea of giving Pomni some alt vests during French lessons. I will be painting this in a while.

I also have plans on turning this to digital, but as said before, I gotta wait until the next holiday to get the sweet free time.
