All right, fellow VEDSies, it’s trailer challenge time! This is one of my favorite challenges, and it comes from this idea that you can make any series of movie clips look like any type of movie, just through the way you arrange the clips, the music, the editing, whatever. I usually give a couple of examples, but this year I actually found a YouTube channel called Editing is Everything where the person does . . . exactly that, takes movie clips and edits them differently, often showing several different genres in the process. And this year . . . that’s what I want you to do.
So, my movie clips this year were not filmed specifically for this challenge. Instead, I’m using a series of thirty out-of-context clips from my Operation Rita videos I’ve been doing for the past few months. I’m not asking you to make a trailer for that story, (unless you want to, of course,) but to find a different story to tell. As always, you can use any of the clips provided that you want, edited any way you want. You don’t have to use all the clips, but you cannot use any other clips except the ones provided. You can add text, add sound effects, or use whatever music you feel is appropriate to tell your story, but no extra video.
And this year, I’m actually going to ask you to make more than one trailer. You don’t have to do seven genres, like Editing is Everything does, but I’d like to see at least three. Pick three movie genres--horror, thriller, rom-com, whatever strikes your fancy--and edit together three different trailers in those genres. (They don’t have to be long trailers, and you can, of course, do more than three if you want.)

I don’t know who mentioned it, but a few days ago I saw a post by someone about how they were going to do the Trailer challenge. I loved that idea so I googled and built a ‘pretty’ trailer for Rosette here. I’m also trying out the Needs Locked mod. (heeeeelp.)
