Hi! I just wanted to say that I’m really excited to see how your wip progresses. I’m thinking about getting a pattern from golden kite while it’s still on sale. I also have a snap frame and I was wondering how you keep it from flattening your stitches. When I move the frame and leave it on stitches, they end up flattened quite a bit and my girlfriend says it looks fine but I can tell they look different from the rest

hey!! i haven’t actually gotten this far yet - i have two patterns in snap frames but haven’t finished one - but what i hear is that when you’re done, and you take the stitch out of the frame and wash it - lots of tutorials for how to wash a stitch in pinterest and youtube - and that should even out your stitches and help with the flattening effect. i have also seen bloggers use strips of like, old cut-up t-shirt to lay between their stitches and their q-snaps to protect their stitches as well. when i’ve had flattened portions before when using a hoop, washing, drying, and ironing in the end has made any marks on the stitch disappear (really, just ironing usually does it) (some sites recommend washing your floss before you start, to prevent any color bleed at this stage, but tbh most agree that the big ones like DMC are color fast and this isn’t necessary). i also take my stitches out of the hoops/frames when i’m not working on them for a long time and hang them with a pants hanger with the clamps so that it hangs down and doesn’t have extra marks unnecessarily. i love my golden kite pattern so far so imo worth it! i hope that helps! good luck!!
