The Performance Series 2018 Bedok Reservoir
After a long hiatus, I have finally returned to The Performance Series Singapore and this time I have the opportunity to explore the picturesque Bedok Reservoir which is a popular destination for Singaporeans to exercise, fish, and picnic.
I am extremely happy to be able to capture this beautiful sun rise as I arrived at 7:05am to prepare for my 10KM non-competitive ran around the reservoir.
For this edition of the race, it attracted 582 runners with 249 women and 333 men competing in 3 different race categories: 10km Competitive, 10km Non-Competitive, and 5km Non-Competitive.
My 10KM non-competitive race promptly kicked off at 7:35am and I was able to capture some beautiful shots while I challenged myself to finish the race in under 90 minutes.
After a long run, it was a dash to the finishing line as I managed to achieve my personal goal for the race by finishing it within 88 minutes.
I love the design of the finisher’s medal as it featured uniquely Singaporean objects used to reserve (”chope”) seats in hawker centres and food courts: a cup of kopi, an umbrella, and a packet of tissue.
One of the highlights for me is catching up with our Imagine Cup 2018 Singapore Finalist #TeamRuumi. We had a great chat over breakfast as we plan to conquer more races together in the future.
