Views of the Transfer House, a signature architectural feature of the city of Decatur. Illinois.
The top view is from a circa 1910 postcard when the Transfer House served as a transportation hub in downtown Decatur.
Designed by William W. Boyington, who was also responsible for Chicago's iconic Water Tower, the building was deemed important enough to be relocated after its primary purpose as a streetcar and interurban center had sadly come to an end.
The bottom photo shows the Transfer House in its current environs, in Decatur's Central Park.
