"Yes?" but the confidence you lack doesn't transfer, a simple guess to a question you did not truly know the answer to.
in return, Trailbreaker surveys you with a furrowed brow, only to raise his servo in reply, tilting it back and forth as if to say: sort of.
"So no then?" you try, feeling an ounce more of conviction than you had a second prior. "Or, are you tricking me, and it is yes, but you're looking for an explanation?"
to utmost surprise, he laughs, a deep chuckle that has a rosy hue twinging your cheeks. immediately, he stops, taking notice of the color to your face, careful to backtrack because there was no way he was laughing at you, no, not at all. it's your effortless charisma, so quick with it all that it often leaves him stumped.
"I wasn't- no. Yes, the answer is yes, but your confidence was lackin' on that one,"
you're utterly charmed by his disposition, only blushing at the way he tilts his helm back when he laughs, servo splayed across his chest as he was freely genuine all the time. he's attractive across the board, his kindhearted nature and authenticity making you a bit lovestruck, and it only intensifies with every interaction.
"I was right, then!" you jump to your feet, now standing atop his desk with some laughter dancing on your lips, all in good fun. "You better mark that one correct,"
"I better?" he rumbles, smile contagious. "Says who?"
"I knew it was right, I just-"
"Wasn't sure?" he begins across the room, steps languid and exaggerated. "I like this game, s'like trivia. What's my prize?"
suddenly, he's above you, datapad set atop the desk and a servo on either side of you, successful in caging you. "You were the one asking the questions." you laugh softly, amused. "I don't think that counts."
Trailbreaker scoffs, dramatically rolling his optics before yanking the chair out, settling into it all whilst keeping the same fond smile. "Why the hell not? Why would I ever agree to somethin' like that."
he is well aware of why he did, still in disbelief that you even approached him with such a task. of course, without a second of hesitation, he eagerly agreed, for once unable to contain his excitement. for such a simple request, you had tried to implore that if he was busy or didn't want to, he didn't have to, not at all. instead, he doubled down, stating that there was absolutely nowhere he'd rather be, eager to assist you.
"I don't know," your cheeks begin to hurt with how hard you're smiling, albeit nervously playing with your fingers. "Wait, how many did I get right?"
Trailbreaker jolts to attention, tipping his helm as he thinks for a minute. "Twelve. Or thirteen, if we're countin' that last one,"
"It counts," you hurriedly reply, unable to suppress another round of laughter at his grumble of disapproval. "What's my prize, then?"
he thinks it over for all of a second, before leaning down and leaving a benign kiss to the top of your head. "How about one of those?"
your silence briefly worries him, but then you always surprise him with your lovely sense of humor.
"I could find incentive to keep studying if that were the prize,"
the datapad slides even further away from the two of you, easily pushed by one of Trailbreaker's servos.
"You don't ever have to get correct answers to get one of those," two of his digits twitch impatiently somewhere behind you on the desks' top. "Honestly, you’d get one just smilin' at me like that. Actually, more than one, most definitely."
