Do All Black Lives Really Matter?
At least 5 black transwomen have been murdered so far this year, and yet, there's no outrage. Where is it? Where are all the protests? The posters? The passion? The amount of awkward, metaphorical, foot shuffling and staring at the ground that occurs when the realities of LGBT people of color, especially the T, are brought up, never fails to astound me. Why aren't the same people protesting the treatment of Michael Brown and others just as angered, just as vicerally hurt, at the deaths of these women? Do all black lives really matter? Or do only heterosexual, cis-gendered, black lives matter?
