Transynch
Artist On Board (SUPA, 2016, Istanbul) work: “Transynch" - sound installation in collaboration with Çağrı Erdem.
Transynch is an interactive sound installation that is diffused through 4 rotating speakers, 1 plate transducer hanging from the ceiling, and a fixed 2+1 sound system. Speaker rotations are adjusted by the amount of sunlight, via 4 light dependent resistors placed outdoor towards 4 cardinal directions. Each speaker starts to rotate by the dawn and constantly alters its speed throughout the dusk. Sound material is recorded on the board of Greenpeace’s reputed ship, Rainbow Warrior, where the shipboard and additional materials such as cymbals, plates and dc motors are utilized for sonic variety. Independently rotating speakers in different heights are to generate a dynamic acousmonium experience that is dependent on the daylight.
