OF COURSE FUCKIN’ RECORD REVIEWS SUPPORTS SAME SEX MARRIAGE...
That’s why Fuckin’ Record Reviews is posting this FOX19 WXIX-TV Cincinnati OH clip of Northern Kentucky University Professor of Law and FRR supporter, zine contributor and reviewer KEN KATKIN taking it to the tube yesterday (4/28/15).
According to the Chase College of Law at NKU, “Professor Katkin teaches and writes in the areas of Constitutional Law, Communications Law, Legislation, Federal Jurisdiction, and Entertainment Law. Since arriving at Chase in Autumn 2000, Professor Katkin has published articles in the Case Western Reserve Law Review, Nebraska Law Review, Vanderbilt Journal of Transnational Law, Northern Kentucky Law Review, Kentucky Bench and Bar Journal, ABA Insights On Law & Society, Dictionary of American History, and Encyclopedia of Intelligence and Counterintelligence. Prof. Katkin has been interviewed and quoted as a legal expert by the Cincinnati Enquirer, Louisville Courier-Journal, Cincinnati/Kentucky Post, New York City’s “Village Voice” newspaper, WNKU-FM, WKRC-TV (Channel 12) News, and WXIX-TV (“Fox 19”) News.”
Ken has also been the Head Programmer at TRASH FLOW ENTERPRISES since 1989.
As per this NKU link, “Before he graduated from Princeton with a math degree, before he programmed computers on Wall Street, and well before he became a beloved Chase Law professor at NKU, Ken Katkin was in charge of one of the most respected post-punk/independent music labels of its time. From 1984 to 1996, Homestead Records released albums by legends of the indie and punk scenes, including Sebadoh, Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr., Big Black, and Swans...For two of those glorious years (1990–1992), Katkin helmed the flagship NYC-based indie label, which—as many non-major labels still experience—was running on a shoestring. ‘Philosophically, I wanted to put out records that I thought I would want to listen to for the rest of my life. That was the standard that I was trying to apply at Homestead. That’s what it was really about’.”
