Some of you know Tom Lenk from his appearances on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, some of you know him from his recreation of red carpet looks with trash from his house, some of you know him from his two man show ‘Tilda Swinton Answers an Ad on Craigslist’ (which I have seen and it is hilarious).
He has a podcast on the Ladygang network, and it is the funniest shit ever. The schtick is that guests are supposed to bring items on and he has to guess which item is trash and which is not, and those segments are funny, but the best part is the interviews.
He’s had mostly friends of his on, and they share (as does Tom) some of the most hilarious, awful stories about trying to be an actor and all of the crap they do for it and how awful Hollywood is with a spectacular sense of humor about all of it. I can no longer count the number of times I have laughed out loud on the subway while listening to this.
I’m reccing this episode because the guest is Tara Karsian, who played Chef Birdie on the latest season of American Horror Story (she has never seen the show), and it’s just a supremely funny episode. I have no idea who some of the guests are, but it doesn’t matter. Tom is so funny and the conversations are so funny I recommend listening to all of them.
