Welcome to our Travel Blog! Milena and Jordan are travelling New Zealand in association with InterCity, New Zealand's largest passenger transport network! InterCity has been transporting Kiwis and international visitors around New Zealand for more than 30 years and together InterCity and GreatSights connect to more than 600 destinations nationwide, with over 130 services every day. Traveling by bus is a lot more relaxing than driving yourself as you are able to enjoy the scenery plus every bus is equipped with FREE WiFi, which is amazing to stay connected with friends and family. InterCity also shows great environmental awareness and follows two key philosophies: Manaakitanga, the concept of warmth and hospitality, which creates a shared experience in both directions, and Kaitiakitanga, the guardianship of the people, the land and the spirit which binds the two.
According to InterCity's website, independent assessments indicate that a visitor will create a 90% lower carbon footprint if they use InterCity transport services than if they drive themselves in a modern 2.0 litre rental car.
As we're undergoing global warming, every little helps to reduce your carbon footprint. By using InterCity's busses as your main transport you are not only saving yourself some money compared to renting a car/campervan, you're also acting environmentally friendly, which we think is really amazing!
