It’s been nearly 20 years (!) since the release of this track, the lead single from the band’s sophomore effort, The Man Who. This record ended up being their big breakthrough thanks to global hit “Why Does It Always Rain On Me?” However, I believe this lilting lullaby is just as effective thanks to front man Fran Healy’s aching, earnest delivery. Also, as the song ponders, to this day I am not quite sure... what’s a wonderwall anyway?

Side note: I was in the crowd at Glastonbury to see Travis perform in 1999, just when “Why Does It Always Rain On Me?” began to gain momentum. What they say about that fateful afternoon is true -- during the first 20 seconds of the song, after several hours of sunny skies, a light drizzle began to fall. It was magical.

ノーマイクでのFlowers in the Windowは大阪では毎回盛り上がってきて皆が手拍子したりするので途中でフランが「静かに」の仕草をしますが大阪以外でも一緒なのかな？ Flowers〜はポールマッカートニーとフランの共作なのでは？と雑誌に載ったり(後でフランが否定)、ポールがフランにFlowers〜がお気に入りと直接言われて舞い上がったとの話など色々逸話が多いのは名曲の証ですね！ #travis #travisband #live 2017/02/17 (Namba Hatch)

Travis atなんばHatch 観る度にベストを更新するライブで新旧入り交ぜた選曲がとてもイイ！ Sing、Closer、Turn等上げだしたらきりがない皆でシンガロングできる曲が多く会場が一つになれる。 フランがステージから降りて来た時はフジで見た位置と同等だったのでまたまた近くで歌ってくれ今回は握手もできました！ フランが大阪の人はグラスゴーと似てフレンドリーだと言ってくれたり、そしてラストのゴジラのテーマからの寸劇とツアーラストならではの特別感と暖かさが感じられました。 そして最後は雨歌と最高のエンディング！ マンフー、インブィジブルと若かりし頃を共にした昔の楽曲は当時を思い出し今夜のTurnは泣けました。 個人的には大好きなSelfish Jeanの爽やかなノリの良さ、Flowers〜のおなじみノーマイク弾き語りが特に印象的！ 何よりバンドが楽しそうに演奏していのを観たらそりゃこっちも楽しいわな！ #travisband #travis #live 2017/02/17 (Namba Hatch)
