The Philadelphia Story
With Our Nationals appearing to have their doldrums behind them I began to prepare a Bubble Bath for the First Mate. After a Slow Start the home towm 9 Jumped out to a 1-0 lead with a Wilson THE BUFFALLO!! Ramos Homer. The lead, almost never happened. In Inning number One, Bryce Harper slung a cannon shot to Danny Espinosa, starting for the First Time this season, Danny turned, after catching the Harper missle, and blasted himself, home plate was the direction. And the target, Chase Utley. The throw beat Utley and Our club breathed a sigh of Relief as 0-0 the first inning ended.
With the lead 1-0, Doug Fister looked like Doug Fisher, wriggling off the hook time After time to preserve the lead hoping for a badly wanted win. 1-0 it was still, in the eighth, when Danny Espinosa blasted a Double in his first game of the season. Clint Robinson softly blasted a single to Drive Espinova Home and the lead was 2-0. Breathing Room at last!! This was the first 2 run lead of the season for Our Boys.
This now, is time for the First Mate's celebration Bubble Bath. When I came back it was 2-2!! If any Reader knows how the game was Tied, please Email me at [email protected]. I was so ANGRY that I smashed my Fist into my Palm!!. But As I returned Mr. Clutch!! Blake Treinen put the Phillies down.
The Bottom of the Ninth, and Mighty Casey at the plate. This time, playing the role of the pitcher that threw the strike out to Mighty Casey, is Craig Stammen. But mighty Casey is ALL THREE strikeouts.
Into Extra Innings the game would go. And there, the Nats woes continue. Michael Taylor, Our rookie sensation, walked to first and stole second base. Yuñel Escobar drove a Hit to left, and Ben Revere gunned Michael Taylor at Home. Then, THE APPRENTICE Tanner Roark, unacustommed to relief, succumbed to defeat. Our Nationals are now 1-4 on the season.
Notes:
*The Case of the Missing Runs is a cold case. The Lead Detective retired. The File was misplaced and has been forgotten. There is Political Pressure from Downtown not to re-open the case. The Captain is weighing career vs justice. Calmly, he deletes the backup files on the computer. The Case of the Missing Runs never existed.
*Maybe Our studio analist, Ray Knight, can suit up and Hit some runs for Our club.
*Tomorrow MAD!! Max Scherzer takes the mound and is really Mad for sure.
