*inserts them into my toy-story-ripoff world* (it’s not actually, it just has living toys too and that the easiest way to simplify. ANYWAY-)
They came to consciousness as the conveyer belt carried them past the exit of the machine. They got to collect themselves and catch an understanding of their surroundings just as slowly as the rubber moved them to the end of the belt. By time they finally reached the end, they got enough of a feel of their limbs to somewhat catch their fall, but still stumbled.
By time they got on all fours, someone was beside them, a teddy bear with black and white splotches pattering him. He waved, the action and everything else in his disposition having a gentle feeling to them “hello! Welcome to the factory! I’m Patny. And you’re… uhm, well we’re gonna figure that out together.”
The new arrival…. Sort of understood him. They seemed to barely have a grasp on language, though that was normal for fresh toys.
Before they could properly understand where they were going, Patny was guiding them through a hallway. He walked on his back two feet, and the new toy wondered briefly if they were supposed to as well, but failed to keep balance for the two seconds they tried.
They made it to an open door, which had books upon books inside, almost all with silly pictures on their covers and all that weren’t on the floor were on colorful kids shelves. Panty first read a few casually, letting them understand what exactly all the words meant first, then said that they needed a word to call themselves.
The new toy sat through a couple more books, thinking what word they liked, and finally stopped Patny mid-sentence by setting a paw on his arm.
They really liked the sound of one word. But first they wanted to try it out. If Patny could, then…
“….g-glaz. Ah’like glaz” (note: they’re saying glass, they just don’t have a full hang on words yet. Also gibberish names are fun)
Awhile later, while wandering and meeting all the toys in the building, they came across a mirror in one of the playrooms. Glaz stared for a second, taking in… themself.
They were a fluffy toy. A stuffie. With the body of something similar to a cat, with monochrome fur and a plastic horn coming from their forehead. The monochrome fur was patterned with layers of grey and white. But the real attention-grabber was the fur that wasn’t on their coat. There were gorgeous tufts of fur that ran from their head and neck like a main, and made up their two tails. Glaz found themselves adoring their own stuffed body, proud of it, even if they didn’t make it.
I woulda drawn but I can’t rn sooo… tada~✨
I love the story! It's wonderful ^^ Glaz is all yours :>
