Trend Space Features at Playtime Paris
"Every season well established artists or those still to be discovered are associated with our Trend Spaces where they present work especially created for Playtime in installations where art mingles with new trends."
googoo&gaga's Color Pixels and Wind Up Robot
When he's not busy playing video games, Laurent Bazart assembles small, low resolution squares to construct his pixellated worlds that come to life in the shape of illustrations, shot-by-shot animations or cartoons. His illustrations grace the pages of the graphic novel publications Spirou, Dada and Pix 'n Love, as well as diverse newspapers and magazines like Les Inrockuptibles, Science et Vie Junior, Télérama, Le Monde.
At Playtime, he presents 'Upside Down City' his Pixelated Utopia!
TREND SPACE : A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM
Esacpe into the forest alongside an elf for a catnap on a bed of moss, and dreams of romantic heroes. A setting of calm and lightness. Colors fade into thoughts, dreams fade into reality; creating a world of love and softness.
Laure Guilhot sculpts fabric like others sculpt clay, planting shapes and growing things from a textile compost and recycled and up cycled materials; ending up with a deformed reality that is strange and evocative, and plays with the notion of improbability and anomaly. Born in 1973, one foot in the Auvergne, the other in Bulagria, Laure goes after long literary study from text to textile with designers Miller and Bertaux, then to the creation of her company Anomalies (textile design, shop windows decor) and since 2009, works solo as an artist (objects, installations, scenery, decor).
For Playtime she creates a moss bed ... from which a dream is born. She inhabits the entire space, creating a 'cross fade' of shapes and colors, a profusion of the imaginary.
