It was nigh a classic scene: a tall, dark, and handsome man sitting cross-legged in a cafe, reading a newspaper with a steaming hot coffee sitting on the table.
Except, there were a few problems in completing the scene. To start with, Shade probably fit ‘handsome’ and was most definitely dark, but tall was his antonym. Another was that he was barely reading that newspaper--he could pick out some words, but it didn’t bother him much. Usually all you needed to understand an article was the headline.
The third issue was that, it took him a while to dare approaching his coffee. When he did, he made a face. Flavor did not usually matter to him, but this was outright disgusting.
Shade looked around and noticed another woman in the table next to him, enjoying some kind of dessert. If she enjoyed that... maybe she’d enjoy a free coffee, too? In any case, he certainly wasn’t going to drink it.
He passed the cup over to the woman’s table, saying, “here. Maybe someone like you would enjoy this more than me.”
And then the Dark God looked back at his newspaper, hoping to ignore her again.
