Same here. Sometimes I think it’s not possible to love Zaya more and then we get an episode like 407 and I realize I was so, so wrong.

Exactly. It all seemed so perfectly contrived and unrealistic because of it. - Zig’s feeling insecure about his relationship with Maya. - Maya goes to New York with Jonah, a guy that Zig doesn’t trust. - At the same time, Grace and Zoë are hanging out. They end up having sex. - The next day, Grace rejects Zoë. At the same time in the same class, Zig gets a notification that Maya posted a picture with Jonah. - Zig and Zoë, both upset, run into each other and Zig’s phone conveniently breaks.
EXACTLY. That is exactly what it is. There were endless contrivances where the Zaya/Gracevas story line was concerned and that’s what makes it so bad. Next Class as a whole is superior to seasons 13 and 14 of TNG, but this was the one story line that was pure trash. All the writers seemed to know going into NC season 1 was that Zaya had to break up and that Grace/Zoe couldn’t be canon because they wanted more Zoe angst regarding her coming out. But I think they went about it in the worst way possible and now basically most of the bonds involving these four characters with each other are tainted in some way. Zig and Maya have at least spent time apart and if they are endgame, you can realistically believe history won’t repeat itself. But the Zig/Grace friendship is ruined beyond repair, IMO. We still see them in scenes together in season 3, but it’s not the same and it’s all because they insisted on having Grace be into Zig all so Zoe could hook up with him. Both Zig/Zoe and Maya/Zoe can never be on good terms again because the bad blood between them is too much. I guess Gracevas is fine, but even then the writers did all they could to make Grace look as blameless as possible when her dishonesty set the whole thing in motion. SMH. The worst part of all is that the story line refused to die. Like you said, Maya’s harassment was pulled into this and there was an ugly situation where Zig was being blackmailed over a video that was actually illegal considering both were underage. Zig kept getting dragged down further and further all because instead of giving us stuff about Zig’s self esteem, they had to write him as Maya’s desperate ex boyfriend who would do anything to win her back whether it’s lying, blaming his mistakes on her, presumably trying to make her jealous, etc. I could go on and on, but fuck this story line. I’m grateful Zoe didn’t end up pregnant, that they never confirmed it was sex and also that it was never a full blown affair. But that doesn’t change it being the worst written cheating story line Degrassi has done and the most glaring instance of queerbaiting I’ve seen outside of Faking It.

Exactly. Yet they'll say we're making Maya's depression story line all about Zig and Zaya, which is the opposite of the case.
Every Zaya fan I know of has said Maya kissing Zig is partially about wanting to go back to a simpler time where she was happy and partially about still loving him. She loved Zig enough to ask Esme to take care of him after she was gone even though they haven’t been close for a long time. I’ll admit a lot of fans aren’t making it about Cam, but the fact is, some are and they’re the same type of people that have cared more about Cam being mentioned after he’s off the show than they’ve ever cared about Maya’s journey.
Unpopular opinion: Eclare was the worst and Clare should have ended up with K.C. or Jake, or just left the show single.

Same here. Having a sore throat is one of the most disgusting and uncomfortable feelings. I hate it so much.
Same and the worst part is, it’s no better today. All I want to is rest and then I feel guilty about it because I have stuff to do. But resting makes it worse because my throat gets dry. :p Anyways, I’m sorry for complaining to you like this.
