“I know you drive too fast for someone rolling up so late.” Trinity tilts her head, spotted his car turn the corner, and she wasn’t about to go inside the place looking single. Which she is, but that’s none of the waiter’s business. She’s not genuinely upset, that much Levi can probably tell from the simmering smile she finally flashes him, one that reads both I missed you and tell me you missed me. “Or are you just getting old? Losing your edge?” Trinity straightens, popping open her clutch and pulling out a hand mirror to fix her lipstick as she talks to him, thumb running under her bottom lip. It’s only been five years since he’s graduated, three for her, and even less since the last time they’ve met up on one of his breaks, but anything to poke a little at his ego. When she looks back at him she can’t help the grinning, she’s happy to see him! Instead of saying so, she looks at him like he’s crazy, and says: “Well could you hurry it up? It’s freezing out and I’m in a goddamn mini dress.” And a brand new pair of heels she damn well shouldn’t be able to afford considering what happened with her and Scott’s bar.
