So, I work at a retail shop, called Clothes Mentor. These people come in with these 3 really young kids. So the adults are trying stuff on in the dressing rooms while the kids sit on the chair. I happening to be straightening some clothes near them when I heard their trying-to-whisper-not-so-quiet conversation.
“Hey, is that a boy or a girl?”
“I don’t know. Looks like a boy.”
“No. They can’t be a boy. They work at a girl’s store.”
I’m already silently laughing at these kids trying to guess my gender, but I had to walk away after the last comment. I love that the only reason he thinks I’m a girl is ‘cause I work in at a women’s shop.
I just wanted to share, because I love moments when people question my gender. It means I’m doing something right.
