We have a trivia weakness!!

Two of us (Sparkle & Oats) went to The OC trivia tonight at Poco NYC (FANTASTIC cocktails and tapas…), and we…weren’t last (woo hoo!) but didn’t place in the top three (boo!  first place winner won a free one hour open bar for 10 friends). Naturally, Oliver Trask was a partial cause of our downfall (who else would be responsible?). More importantly, we found our OC trivia counterpart, and we apologize to everyone that has had to sit next to us during a GoT/ASOIAF trivia while we yell out answers to every question.

But it’s on. The Gruesome Twosome will try this again on May 27th at Bottomz Up.  California, here we come….kinda.

Trivia is almost over...

There's only one more night of the Upjumped Sellsword's A Trivia of Ice and Fire! This 8 week Tourney has been a bit grueling but it's also been a lot of fun for us. We've won about half of the nights and managed to keep ourselves on top in overall points. You never know what will happen on the last night but we're confident that FireandLunch has a great chance at winning this thing!

How great would it be for an all girl team to win at a book trivia tournament? (Ok so maybe I have an agenda, lol)

Anyways this latest Trivia night was "Wear a Cape Night" and Team FireandLunch repped well with Razor Russet Fossoway's pink fur cape from NYCC. (We feel compelled to be as obnoxiously dressed as possible for premier night's last match, we'll see...). Pink Lady Fossoway provided the all important food component for our team with some tasty blueberry and cream cookies. Shout out to the Foods of Westeros Trivia round. Yes, there was a question about Frey pie. And yes, Rhaegar is the tastiest.

Black Gilleflower Fossoway remembered to bring her three-eyed raven and menaced her team mates with disturbing prophecies and Maester knowledge.

As always Jester Fossoway anchors our team with her incredible knowledge and with only one more night of Trivia in our future, and a second place finish tonight, she's getting competitive.

Study time, ladies!

The Big Apple Fossoways

To celebrate our continuing dominance in the field of useless fictional minutiae I've messed with the blog to honor the question we got wrong! You're welcome #fireandlunch. This is what happens when I have the password!

We are now Fossoways!  Or perhaps we're just Fossofreys. Legitimized bastards. Depends on if you're a sore loser or not.

Bonus: In my apple research I found out that there is a Sansa Apple. It is described as 'sweet with acid'.

FireandLunch has begun 2014 with a bang! We won at Trivia last night! Feels great after just missing first place at the last Trivia event we attended. This was the first night of a months long 'Tourney'. They are also going to keep tabs on points for every Trivia night and declare overall winners. So we're excited! We can totally win this!

You did good ! What was the fateful question ? (so that I put it on my red list of people who slighted our House)

Well, we missed a couple...curse you Bay of Crabs...damn you to the seven hells random fabled lands of Yi Ti....should have stayed in Essos Golden Company...but the real fateful question was the bonus...Heh. 

How many true born sons does our good Lord Walder Frey have? Wait, I know this one! Should I go with the first number that pops into my head? Of course not. Let's pick one number off instead. 23 was a LOST number, that sounds right. 

sadly...the answer was 22. There are 22 true born sons of the one and only Walder Frey. 22 reasons hate our Lord Frey, especially when you're a daughter...

but really, let's be honest, who really knows how many sons or daughters or bastards or grandsons or granddaughters he has? All we Freys care about is how many we have to work our way through before we get to be Lord of the Crossing ourselves. That's really the only number that matters. Besides, I hear Wyman Manderly has a good pie recipe and it just so happens that Freys are in season.

Heh!
