Trntbl-Clone Update v. 1.5

Whoo, i’m back!

I’ve added a button to add songs to your current queue!

(and also made it a bit more obvious what the open post button does by having it say “open post”, instead of just being an arrow)

That’s another thing off the list!  That means that there’s currently only 4 more things planned:

- Soundcloud integrations still has to wait, bc their api applications are STILL closed (really soundcloud? it’s been almost a YEAR)

- Spotify integration is my next planned feature (tho i’m not sure how exactly it will work, but it’s probably doable without much problems, hopefully)

- Playlist display would be extremely helpful to set up a proper playlist for yourself, but that’s gonna take quite a bit of work bc i definitely want to include stuff like drag-and-drop ordering and saving the playlist for next time)

- Which brings me to the next one: playlist share. When you can properly create your playlists, then you should also be able to share them (tho i’m not sure how exactly i’d make that work, but i’ll try to make it as easy as possible for you)

For those interested, the detailed changelog:

- Added the “Add to queue” functionality

- Cleaned up a lot of code!

- Restructured the playlist plugin to fix some race-conditions

- Fixed the first audio post sometimes not being added to the queue

- Searched tags are now properly saved (instead of being a garbled mess)

- Usernames are now better recognized (from “egoisticalgoat”, over “egoisticalgoat.tumblr.com” to “http://egoisticalgoat.tumblr.com”)

- Fixed Spotify posts breaking your entire playlist, whoops.

okay so I’ve found a replacement for trntbl.me called and whiskie.net 

I’m not in love with it but it’s usable :/

edit: actually it’s kinda cool so far

so if you sign it, it drops you off and all of the posts it’s showing are the most recent audio posts on you DASHBOARD

to get to your reblogged music you have to do whiskie.net/tumblr/yourURLhere

holy FUCK it finally happened

I've officially added previous/next song buttons

(only took half a year till i had the time and energy)

now you can jump to the previous/next song, find out what that last song was that shuffle just threw at you, et cetera

if anything is broken for you (it shouldn't, but i just can't test every single device) there's old.egoisticalgoat.de, which from now on will always host the last version before the current one

next step: add a queue button on songs, so you can build yourself a temporary playlist (not too hard), add a proper display of your current playlist (also not too hard but i am bad at designing stuff), and last, improve the playlist feature enough that you can possibly save and/or share your playlist (hard)

trntbl-clone update

I’ve just pushed an update to the site to add a tag search, and because of that, a few things have changed, but i think the three biggest things you will notice are:

the tag search itself: now you can add a tag to your search, and your music gets filtered by that, so now you can distinguish between “music” and “meme songs”, or whatever your tags are

Endless scrolling: to fix various bugs that were happening and increase stability, I’ve switched from page changing to endless scrolling. I’m sorry if you liked the previous way it was, i hope i find a way to implement both, but currently only the infinite scroll version works.

Cookies: You’ll notice on your first visit on the new version that you’re getting a cookie popup. These cookies are no tracking cookies or similar, i just use them to store some data between your visits, like shuffle settings, volume, et cetera. 

If you find any bugs, just contact me and i’ll look into it as soon as i can.

current status RE: trntbl-clone

So, i haven’t abandoned it, i’m reading all your messages and tags (thank you so much for them btw) and i’ve just wanted to make a quick update:

I’m currently working on adding a tag search, so that you can sort your posts into kind of playlist, e.g. tagging the good music as “music”, so you can listen to your music without being interrupted by egg or anything like that.

After i finish that, i can actually add another feature easily: marking audios as skip, so you don’t have to listen to some of the bullshit you reblog in between your other stuff. 

For that skip function, i need some input tho: how long should the skipped songs be saved? do you want them to stay skipped unless you close your browser, or should they stay skipped forever? (or the next year, idk) 

P.s. another thing i’ve noticed: if you have your blog set to hidden/only visible on the dashboard, tumblr won’t give me your posts. i can understand why tumblr does that, but sadly, you can’t use my site then. just as a heads up if you’re wondering why it says “user not found” when you’re 100% sure you typed your username correctly
