The program trojan.sirefef belongs to a family of backdoor Trojans that allows a remote attacker to take control of the PC for malicious purposes. It is also known as the Trojan.Zeroaccess that is installed by trojan droppers and hides at the lowest level of the system. It loads during the system startup and creates a backdoor through which it communicates and receives commands from its author. It may perform secondary payloads such as keylogging and downloading malware.
