I could not recommend this piece enough. It’s always one of the first few recs I send people when they ask me for recs. And they always come back to tell me they loved it.

the ammount of research that went into every part of this is actually mind-blowing without ever feeling overdone. the characterization is impeccable. and the storytelling itself is exquisite??? i literally kept gasping as everything unfolded, and the little details clicked. and so much *nuance* came out on a second read that i honestly don't think it's an exaggeration to call this literature disguised as yu-gi-oh fic.
there is so much i could say about it but really everyone should just go and read it for themselves
